It was the latest volley in a clash that stretches back to their first years in the George W. Bush administration.

I wonder what Mr.Powell has in his past that he didnt want to run for President or VP position
I suspect there is nothing other than the fact that he was a product of affirmative action............

truth ain’t never racist but it might make ya squirm

let’s all be sure and buy mr. Cheney’s book .
Make it a best seller .
He deserves our support . It’s the least we can do .
Give him a decent retirement and help defer some of his med bills .

I’m still PO’d at Powell for calling us off before we finished the job in Gulf War I. We were on a roll. Things would have been a lot different if he had let us finish the job.

Cheap shots?
Every one of those “shots” cost dearly when they were being fired in the first place.
But the survivors get to write the history books.
And Dick Cheney is, af anything, a survivor.

...Since electing the first Black President was so important to him above his principles, why didnt he run himself?I think he was just enough smarter than his hero Hussein to realize he was incompetent.

Ya’ got it. The ole’ liberal-conservative WHITE GUILT still prevalent amongst Freepers.
Look what that recently got us: Michael Steele. Look closely and you’ll see Freepers still describing them as “African Americans’.

Kinda like the cheap shots Powell gave GW by spouting-off in public regarding of GWs policies... Powell can eat, (sounds like “it”), as far as I’m concerned.

Fortunately, this flap serves two purposes. 1). Sells more Cheney books and 2) Exposes the nitwit Powell to more people as a nitwit.

This book is gonna make a lot of people angry, said NBC interviewer Jamie Gangel. Cheney responded, There are gonna be heads exploding all over Washington, Jamie.

Powell knows he's finished. He kissed Obama’s butt until he couldn't kiss it anymore and what great job did it get him with the administration? Nada. He's pretty much exiled to his rocker to sit and read all the negative things about himself that are true and his job is to jump up and shout, “That's not fair.” Sorry, the Colin Powell show has run it's course. Not missing this guy at all.

Powell long since outed himself as a political hack. What admiration I had for him at one time is long gone. roger that

In fairness, Powell didn’t run because his wife Alma wouldn’t go along with it. That’s been established for almost 20 years now, people should leave him alone on that issue

Wonder what happened to those folks? ;)

Some folks here have never figured out that when you put certain people high up on pedestals, they'll exploit the opportunity to piss on you.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
I wasn’t really planning on buying Cheney’s book but after this insightful thread (read your first post and then read down before I posted), I am going to go get it and read it.
