Senior defense official says Iran's nuclear program not easily derailed like Iraq or Syria: "There is no one silver bullet you can hit and that's over"; claims Iranian regime's biggest fear is US.
Israel would not be able to halt Iran's reported quest for atomic weapons with a single strike, a senior Israeli defense official said on Sunday.
The defense official, who in line with Israeli army guidelines declined to be identified, mentioned Iran during a review of the security situation in the Middle East in a briefing to foreign reporters.

I don’t have a problem with glazing over the whole country, if that’s what it takes.
You would want a “Rods from God” type strike first, followed by low grade tactical nuke and/or mega dose warhead? The RFG would/....eerrrr....soften the targets?
Sure it would. It would just have to be big enough, bigger than any Western government would be willing to carry out.
Like I always say; if it’s worth hitting it’s worth hitting twice!
“There is no one silver bullet you can hit and that’s over”
Use the big GD nuclear one. That’s what it’s for.
“...Single strike would not halt Iran’s nuclear program...”

Well...the solution to that seems simple enough.
When I get my printer working again ... THAT’S A WALL POSTER!
Is that you, Laz?
“Well...the solution to that seems simple enough.”
Exactly. Reading between the lines, I simply assumed this official was signalling that Israel planned on multiple strikes, for however long it takes to get the job done. When the Israelis commit to a tactical objective, they don’t have a reputation for proceeding in a half-baked manner.
LOL Hey, he’s not the only red-blooded American here. ;^)
Beautiful!
So you hit more than one site. Big schmeal. Done it before.
No more nukes for Iran!

This is a map of some of the major nuclear targets. All told, there are some 300 or so worth blowing up.

Going the direct route with an attack against their nuclear infrastructure would be a difficult and bloody affair, causing widespread destruction and perhaps killing millions. It would be far more preferable to convince the Iranian people to discontinue their government’s nuclear efforts.
The way to do this is to create a deadly nuclear accident in Iran, that would kill tens of thousands of Iranians, sicken and disfigure many more, and that would be attributable to their nuclear weapons program. It would also be very obvious to the international community.
Optimally, the people affected would be from the part of the population that most supports the current radical regime.
A way to carry out such an attack would be relatively straightforward, and its exact timing would be based on prevailing winds. A common cargo truck would park downwind from a nuclear facility, yet upwind from the target city. A vent would open in its roof, and large quantities of invisible, but deadly nuclear isotopes would be pumped into the air.
These isotopes would be carried by the wind into the target city, and there would seemingly be no immediate effect. Then the truck would drive away and disappear forever. Finally, a large “dirty” bomb concealed at the nuclear facility would go off, with much alarm and media attention.
Then a day or two later, people would start to experience the first symptoms of severe radiation poisoning. Depending on circumstances, the response could take several days, and it is just as likely that private, instead of government, sources will first determine that a nuclear disaster has happened. Likely their government will deny everything, making the situation much worse.
Only when the word gets out to the Iranian people will the true impact be known, so covert efforts to thwart any government coverup are essential. Likewise, a covert anti-nuclear campaign should be ready to go public a short time later.
“The way to do this is to create a deadly nuclear accident in Iran, “
Like a neutron bomb.
The radiation would carry throughout the entire region. There is no containing such radioactivity.
