No I think it was a lady name and it was traveling due north to the Panhandle and Alabama. I’ll have to search. We were all amazed, and thankful even though we weren’t in the path of that one.

Ike was pretty bad. Do you realize that Irene was a name previously used in 2005. The year of Katrina, Rita and I think Wilma too.

Ike is the only hurricane that I remember coming through this part of Texas in the six years I've lived here. Perhaps some storm that fell apart, but kept the initial name? Dunno.

You sure about that? I know that the alphabet is cycled through from front to back with male and female names, and then they begin again at A, but use different names starting with the same letter for new storms. Takes a very long time for a name to be reused.
