Rep. Darrell Issa, the powerful chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has declared war on the New York Times after the newspaper published a front-page story last week linking the California Republicans business activities to his congressional duties.
The story, A Businessman in Congress Helps His District and Himself, claims that Issa has used his congressional power to further enrich himself.
As his private wealth and public power have grown, so too has the overlap between his private and business lives, with at least some of the congressmans government actions helping to make a rich man even richer and raising potential for conflicts, New York Times reporter Eric Lichtblau wrote.
Issa didnt participate in what he calls a false story, but has launched a full-scale campaign pressing for a front-page retraction after his staff cited 13 errors, including the lead of the story that claims Issas district office building overlooks a golf course.

“A Businessman in Congress Helps His District and Himself,”
Better not start that stuff or we’l lhave to bring up the subject of Nancy Pelosi’s sudden acceleration of wealth.
This is a conservative, so the NY Times has targeted a conservative Congressman who is causing Obama fits...
There was a quote from the movie Serpico that would be appropriate. This New York Police Officer was trying to find a police area that did the officers manning it did not have to look the other way because of corruption.
Something about the one Serpico was transferred to was "clean as a hound's tooth" or something like that.
Everybody know there is no corruption in the ranks of the liberals in Congress [especially Harry Reid and his Nevada connections]...
Gotcha. There are TWO sets of rules for the politicians.
He needs to sue them.
Can he sue them out of existence or not? That’s all I want to know.
A White House sponsored hit piece. Too bad the hurricane didn’t blow down the Slimes building. Have these scumbags done any reporting on Maxine Waters and her REAL corruption?
1. Reporter, who won Pulitzer Prize, claims he did adquate research. Yet he used "blogs" as source for research.
2. Only reason piece was done was to attack someone who is attacking Obama. Clearly, the NY Times has an agenda in place. They would not have allowed such shoddy journalism if the target was a liberal...
But a lawyer needs to comment on this...
“claims he did adquate research. Yet he used “blogs” as source for research.”

Someone posted it on Daily Kos, and he ran with it, like the he did with all of the Sarah Palin lies in 2008.
