Put Obama out in the bay in a Zodiac. He's close by. I understand he lowers seas, so a storm surge should be a piece of cake.

It looks like it will most likely lose a lot of its strength traveling NNE through New Jersey.

Looks like they’re gonna have to evacuate Rikers. Maybe they can put those guys in Woody Allen’s apartment.

As a youngster growing up in the Bronx in the 50's we spent summers on Rockaway..they had lots of these very little bungalows/cottages...nothing great..but far better than the heat of the Bronx streets...and we had the beach. Mom would stay out there for the whole summer with me and my younger brother, and my Dad would come out on weekends..and his vacation.
Early 50's..I was about 7-8..so I think it was Edna that hit..Looking at the map..most of Rockaway is less that 4 blocks wide..maybe 1/4/-1/2 mile..including the beaches..from the Atlantic to Jamaica Bay on the other side, and maybe 2-3 feet above sea level..
The entire peninsula flooded..4 feet deep at least...the Atlantic and the bay were contiguous..one body of water..we spent a day, all night, and most of the next day on the roof...along with thousands of others..it was an adventure...wha I remember most, to this day, was lying on the roof with my brother, and watching all these people try and figure out the best way to go to the bathroom....I will say NO MORE..but you can imagine..

Maybe it will take out Krugman’s house so he can claim its reconstruction is a boos to the economy.

It looks like Wall Street is in the direct path.
Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?

New Yorkers, do not attempt to cross the Hudson to the west! There’s no other side! It’s an illusion! People fall off of the edge of the Big Apple (the world) there, into space!

As the canyon of skyscrapers kinda make the wind velocity dramatically increase on the streets, look for alot of blown out windows downtown. Mondays commute could be very dangerous.
Subways will be stored above ground, probably tunnels flooded, sewer manhole covers blown out on the streets.
And I’m sure that all aircraft will be removed from Reagon, Dulles, Baltimore, Philly, Newark, JFK, Laguardia, Teterboro, Stewart, Hartford, Providence, so next week will be a total travel clusterf*** zoo

Has Bloomberg issued the mandatory NYC hurricane dress code yet, with color coded and uni-sourced slickers and galoshes, and hefty fines for non-conforming gear?
Everything else in NYC is regulated. Hard to believe they’ve overlooked this one.
