I'm in Charleston too but didn't feel anything odd. Anyone notice any earthquake swarms before this?
Obama’s “DEBT DEFICIT” reaching ‘EARTHQUAKE’ proportions now.
That wasn’t an earthquake, that was the DNC seeing 0’s latest poll numbers
It's the middle of hurricane season and there's a hurricane; shocking.
And the earthquake occured in a known seismic zone:
EARTHQUAKES IN THE CENTRAL VIRGINIA SEISMIC ZONE Central Virginia Seismic Zone Since at least 1774, people in central Virginia have felt small earthquakes and suffered damage from infrequent larger ones. The largest damaging earthquake (magnitude 4.8) in the seismic zone occurred in 1875. Smaller earthquakes that cause little or no damage are felt each year or two. Earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S., although less frequent than in the western U.S., are typically felt over a much broader region. East of the Rockies, an earthquake can be felt over an area as much as ten times larger than a similar magnitude earthquake on the west coast. A magnitude 4.0 eastern U.S. earthquake typically can be felt at many places as far as 100 km (60 mi) from where it occurred, and it infrequently causes damage near its source. A magnitude 5.5 eastern U.S. earthquake usually can be felt as far as 500 km (300 mi) from where it occurred, and sometimes causes damage as far away as 40 km (25 mi).
The last real bad one was what, 95 or 96?
My house had stuff all over the floor....bookcases, etc : )
Eathquake weather?
That's like a "mild heart attack", ain't no such thing.
My thoughts exactly.
I feel cheated. I didn’t feel a thing.
That dam is less than 3 miles away.
Felt it up here in New Jersey.
Bush’s fault
I live about 5km from the epicenter... knocked stuff off of walls and tables but no structural damage...
Do they mean "alleged earthquake"? Are they afraid to offend earthquakes? Maybe they should say they have a "phenomenon of interest"?
It is, actually. It's the largest known quake IN the zone, of course, but people have only lived in the area for 400 years, which is basically no time at all, geologically.
So, the earth didn’t move for you... sorry.
Yeah Northridge was 1995, but we had one a few years back, remember the one alongside the US/Mexico border, I think it was a 7, but since I am in LA it wasn’t so bad..I hope this quake didn’t interrupt Obama’s golf game LOL
There is a known fault line in the area of Mineral VA,
which also includes North Anna....
I have been trying to reach my son, he had to deliver a load to Chicopee, MA this morning
And that’s only the first one....stand by folks...
