SarahPAC released the following statement:
Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.
PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.
Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:
Here she is, in her own words:
Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?
Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but
Q: So by next month?
Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.
A few moments later, there was this exchange:
Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?
Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.
Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?
Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.
Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?
Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.
That wasn’t my intent.
Although generous, your offer is one I will happily decline. If it comes down to Perry vs. Obama, we’ll see.
In the meantime, Perry does not share my views on open borders, Parental rights via this handling of the Guardasil debacle; and after many years of my studying and writing about Al Gore and his ‘environmental’ issues, I firmly believe any man stupid enough to not only support, but actively campaign for him after he had ALREADY been pushing his eco garbage for years, is not a leopard I expect to change his spots. Hide them perhaps, but not change them.
As for waiting for Palin, good things come to those who wait and she is a far superior candidate to yours in every definable metric. I personally think now is too soon for her to announce and I am content to wait until the deadline for filing passes before even considering another candidate. I am not a fairweather friend. Fortunately, I do not believe that will be a concern.
But take heart. If after all the other candidates (except Romney who can go straight to hell) fall by the wayside and we are left with Perry vs. Obama, I’ll have a good conversation with my conscience on whether another RINO putting off the inevitible collapse is preferable to getting it over with immeadiately. Come to think of it, Might not want to count me in at all. But time will tell.
Get the hell off this thread!
This isn’t your first time, so don’t try to play games with me.
This particular article is an information thread about her announcement.
Again, members can find your Perry threads all by themselves and Governor Palin supporters are not interested in your *moderate* candidate.
We’re TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVES.
WOOT! Thank you and Good Morning, Jim!
AHEM... another ‘dog’.
No thanks. Bye.
Hi Happy Rain!
She’s been in serious prayers with her family, but I think she’s made her decision and that now she’s just planning the date of her announcement, which means that our prayers have been answered: she’s running!
You could do needed service for the board if you would establish that a thread involving a candidate is closed to any mention of any other candidate; if that is how you want it.
It would also be good to define "make trouble."
I have seen you post that support for Romney is grounds for the Zot. That's clear. What is not clear is how supporters of candidates other than Palin may post here.
Good morning, samantha! Exciting to be polled! During ‘08 I was polled 3 times! I was amazed and got to thinking I was pretty special...lol.
Mind your own business.
Morning to you both! But I bet Jim hasn’t been to bed yet!
LOL! So polishing that turd Gore to make your boy more palatable isn’t working out that well. Had to come over here.
Here’s an old joke you might appreciate. Just substitute Murray Mom in the punch line, you’ll understand it better.

Three prisoners have been chained to the wall of a dark and dank prison wall with no hope of escape.
To pass the time they told each other every joke they could remember. Over time, weakened by the diet of bread and water, they resort to numbering the jokes and just saying the number instead of the whole joke.
One day prisoner number three hoarsely mumbles, “fifteen”.
The other two remain silent.
Number three is mystified by the lack of reaction.
He asks, “why aren’t you guys laughing? You always laugh at that joke?”.
Number one chimes in, “Yeah, but number two tells it better”.

So to save you guys time and effort, why don’t you all compile your best shots, start your very own PDS thread. Then you can just post a number or hot link without the trouble of all that cutting and pasting and we all can ping you to our responses. We don’t mind helping fellow Freepers out.
You all might even be able to cut back on your meds and sleep better. Ya never know
I need some help with what my own business is. I try to post within the rules that you have established.
I’m simply asking for clarity on what the rules are and who gets to make them.
Perry has an impressive record at the state level. However, where has he been since the last Presidential Election in the fight against the Coup in Washington being led by CZAR B.O.?
There’s no rule involved. I just told a wannabe troublemaker to get the hell off this thread. We can make it two if you wish.
I don’t believe I posted on this thread. Why did you ping me?
To talk about dogs?
My mother has a Sheltie. You?
I wouldn’t ping you to a thread you had not posted on.
AWOL.
Wow, I guess I am dumb, but I thought FR was more open-minded than I am reading here. If an article is about Palin, no other candidate can be mentioned? People can’t support some of the Republican candidates or they will get kicked off FR? I have made a monthly contribution for a number of years, but some of these comments are chilling. I will try to overlook this as an anomaly, but if I run across stuff like this, I may reconsider my contribution, small as it is...
