In the same week that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced that her department was going to review the cases of 300,000 illegal aliens in deportation proceedings and allow low priority cases to stay in the country and receive work permitsa move House Judiciary Chairman Lamar Smith called a back door amnestyPresident Barack Obamas approval dropped to an all-time low of 44 percent among Hispanics, according to Gallup polling data released today.
That is a drop of 41 points from the spring of 2009, when Obamas approval among Hispanic Americans peaked at 85 percent (in the weeks that ended April 26, 2009 and May 17, 2009).
Obamas approval among Hispanics dropped 5 points last week alone, falling from 49 percent in the week that ended Aug. 14 to its new low of 44 percent in the week that ended Aug. 21.
They still vote for him to spite the white skin.
Quite a conundrum this Admin has created. It will not deter them though.
I expect Hell-Fire if Obama loses in 2012 as an exit stratagy.
And I'm planning for it.
the US is no longer the land of milk and honey. no longer a better life. It has done dried up.
Legal immigrant that I know have no tolerance for illegals.
Perhaps some “Hispanics” have figured out that the illegals are hurting them too?
Don’t deport them make them LEGAL.. and end of problem!!. /S
There have been a few polls published that measure the attitudes of legal Hispanics toward amnesty for illegal aliens.
Invariably, these polls show legal Hispanics around 2-to-1 against amnesty.
The reason for keeping the polling data quiet is obvious. It doesn't fit the liberal agenda.
And why wouldn't legal Hispanics be anti-amnesty? It's a matter of common sense.
Fact is, Republicans could make hay with the Hispanic vote if they ever took a stand against amnesty and illegal immigration. But, so far, they haven't been able to figure that out.
Evidently Hispanics on average have enough of a brain to notice naked pandering and don’t appreciate it, unlike Holder’s People who can’t get enough (no offence to our black Freeper brethren, who are clearly NOT Holder’s People).
Recently there was a move up here in NW Arkansas to gerrymander a majority-Hispanic district, and the Dem’s at the helm were mystified at the lack of enthusiam from their target demographic, who were probably not too excited about the prospect of being ghettoized. The nerve!
Anyway, I find it encouraging.
Rick Perry should take note.
I live in New York city and I can’t tell you how many of my hispaic friends who came here legally just looooove seeing all the illegals taking up all the construcion jobs while they remained un-employed, and how much they love our Mayor Mike “The mincing Mayor of megalomania” Bloomberg for encouraging it. That’s the thing about liberals and Rinos isn’t it? They bash the rich except when the rich save money off the cheap labor of illegals.
That boy can’t win for losing, can he?
It warms my heart....
I said it before, and will say it again
Even illegals need a job and food to eat....economy number 1, immigration status number 2 and for most hispanics...not even close to even being a number 2
We have a loud minority of Hispanics bringing out their families and neighbors to protest, but the active organizers that push these people out are just a very small percentage of the community. Sure, you poll them and ask them what they want....you get an obvious result. Like polling people if they want a free TV, again....obvious result.
When is the GOP going to learn this about polling?
It will be something if reversed 2 or more years down the road will be bad politically for whoever reverses it. Better cut off this cancer now. Governments cannot be legalizing immigrants and making them illegal every other election.
This is not a simple EO to turn it around in a year or 2.
It must be reversed NOW!
Hispanics aren’t nearly the monolith leftist activists (and the media insofar as that isn’t redundant) keep trying to intimidate the average American into thinking. I’ve long tried to spread the word about this. But the reason leftists want us to THINK hispanics are of a like mind, especially regarding the Fed’s refusal to have a functional border and immigration control, should be clear enough. They want to first make hispanic a race, second a race that is driven, third the immigration debate some kind of bizarre civil rights struggle, and fourth one of seeming inevitability with the growing hispanic population. Even a lot of cowering conservatives have been duped by the propaganda, without realizing it themselves, when they wring their hands about the need to go soft on immigration for fear of alienating hispanics.
More proof the political class completely misunderstands Mexican Americans v. illegals. No one is hurt more by illegal immigration than latinos, who are, generally speaking, hard working conservative evangelicals. I have never understood where politicians got the idea that amnesty makes latinos happy. They all still think there’s no difference between New York Puerto Ricans, Florida Cubans, and SoCal Chicanos. So stupid.
I do as well. Going to be an evil couple months. Whatever rule by exec order he issues can easily be undone by the new President, but the damage until that point will be immense. And there are far more weapons at his disposal than EOs. Figuratively and literally.
Wouldn’t shock me to see the military have to remove him.
Legal Hispanics I’ve known are totally against amnesty for illegals of any stripe.
I can’t believe Conservatives, the GOP and the media have publically called out Napalitano, Obama and others in his regime on their claim that they have deported more illegals than any other President.
I guess the current media idiots don’t know how to research history. They should look up “Operation Wetback” implemented by Pres. Eisenhower, wherein approximately FIVE MILLION illegals were rounded up and deported. Yet, for the past decade or so, our government just keeps saying there are too many illegals here to deport.
