Obama calls Warren Buffett, Ford CEO for advice on creating jobs
The Hill ^ | 8/22/11 | Erik Wasson

“The President and Mr. Buffett discussed the overall outlook on the economy and the reaction to the headwinds we’ve experienced over the last couple of months," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said. "They talked a little bit about some possible measures that would spur investment and increase economic growth. And they also talked about some measures that could address the long-term fiscal situation in this country.”

Obama also called Mulally, and they discussed the disruptions to the auto industry supply chain caused by the Japanese tsunami as well as ways to stimulate exports and investment.

Ford was a major opponent of the Korea free trade agreement Obama is trying to move through Congress in the fall, until Obama renegotiated its automobile tariffs to disadvantage Korean trucks for a longer period of time.

That's something he should have done back in 2008 before thinking about running for President.

It appears that today. we run for President first then we think about how we can fix things.

Obama should ask Rick Perry about how to create jobs. He's already got his plans.

No need to call Buffett. If he scratches his backside he’ll find ol’ Warren.

This is what happens when you elect someone to the presidency who has never done anything! Mr. Obama has never managed a small department at Wal-Mart, a McDonalds or even run a hot dog cart! Why is anyone surprised that the U6 unemployment rate is at 16.2% and even that is artificially low?!

Obama is not a listener because to listen, genuinely listen, first requires that you admit your current course is wrong. Pathological narcissists cannot accept responsibility and are unwilling to admit error.

The only thing Obama is interested in is new ways to blame others for what is going wrong.

That said, Mulally could have helped if Obama could/would listen. Buffett, on the other hand, hasn't got a clue. He is another example of blindness to facts and clear evidence which is caused by fanatical adherence to outdated and disproved ideology.

For liberals, ideology trumps truth.

Don’t you mean if Warren scratches his backside, he’ll find Obama? Remember who is calling the shots.

WOW! He’ll do anything to get re elected, won’t he? After how hard he’s worked to diminish jobs, too.

I know! How about if Buffett takes all his disposable income and creates 1 million jobs that pay $25k a year?

He wouldn’t dare call anybody who would disagree with him. If any successful businessman or woman has ever called for cutting taxes, Obama wouldn’t call them if they had the last phone in the world.

Zero could write and deliver the following speech:

"Effective at midnight today, I resign the office of the President of the United States.
-Barack Hussein Soetoro 0dinga 0bama"

That might "stimulate the economy".

Obama is only pretending to be concerned about jobs. He knows darned well that his policies at all levels of government have poisoned the business environment. He just vainly hopes the economy will stabilize long enough that he can be reelected.

Buffett is good at evaluating companies and buying them at good prices.

His expertise is not in start-ups and job creation.

He is pretty rich, though.

Like Mark Steyn said on Rush's show today (paraphrasing)...Bammy always mentions "his friend" Warren Buffet. What about the small business owner....that'd be someone who could give Bammy excellent advice on actually starting and running a business.
