Romney is not my choice, but I will vote for him in a heart beat over Obama.

I agree completely.

My worry, and it's a big worry, is that some folks will feel so dissatisfied (and perhaps alienated) by not getting "their choice" of a GOPer candidate, that they will listen to the siren song lies of a third party candidate.

(I have this concern that the liberal poseur Trump might fake a run to the right of whomever the GOP nominates, and siphon enough votes for Mister Obama to stay in office and continue on his anti-American course.)

I fear that, too. But Rush, who claims that he is good friends with Trump, says that he will talk to him and convince him that it’s not a good idea unless he wants 4 more years of Obama.

Trump will never run as an independent - he wouldn’t want to go down in history as the factor that got Obama re-elected.

Romney is better than Obama, but if he wins the nomination, it prompts a third party run and Obama becomes President again anyway.

I plan to stay as far away from Romney as possible.
