'Scots men have been named the manliest in the world in a survey, with our English neighbours trailing badly in third place.
Voters were impressed by Scotland's rugged landscape and its status as the birthplace of Rob Roy and William Wallace, as well as modern-day macho men such as Sean Connery, Gordon Ramsay and Gerard Butler.
We topped the poll with 26 per cent of the vote, followed by Australia (16), England (15), Russia (14) and Finland (seven).'

"Ach! They call this a soccer riot? Come on, boys, let's take 'em to school!"
I'll forvige you your presmption for this reason alone. ;)
If it’s not Scottish it’s crap...
Can’t wait to see “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” tonight! He ought to be in rare form.
And among Scots it's the smaller septs of the Logan/McLennan clan who best exemplify those traits.
Although I also wear my McLaren kilt given the BSA connection.
I’ll give the few who let that terrorist that ran a car bomb into the airport burn quite a bit before eventually putting him out. He did die later in the hospital, I just hope he was in immense pain.
Gerard Butler fan here ;-)
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. :-)
Hello! They wear skirts and purses...

It was the Scots-Irish who Shaped America. Well documented in the book Born Fighting. They had rugged individualism, and a warrior culture (the “kind of people who would die in place rather than retreat”) and an instinctive mistrust of authority, and created an American culture that mirrors these traits. It was George Washington who said while at Valley Forge, If all else fails, I will retreat up the valley of Virginia, plant my flag on the Blue Ridge, rally around the Scots-Irish of that region, and make my last stand for liberty amongst a people who will never submit to British tyranny whilst there is a man left to draw a trigger.
Had a wonderful Scottish husband, so I totally agree!
Its only “perception”, not truth.

What we would refer to as a “brigadoon”. LOL!
or deranged... :)
My condolences.
(not for having a Scottish husband......well, actually maybe yes....lol)
Where was he from?.
As for those folks living North of Hadrian's Wall, the Germans in WWI called them the ladies from hell. When the pipes call out the clans, you better be able to find your blue paint.
Perhaps a point to ponder is that, in the States, we don’t put manliness to a vote. If you have to ask others their opinion, there’s no point in asking.
