'Scots men have been named the manliest in the world in a survey, with our English neighbours trailing badly in third place.
Voters were impressed by Scotland's rugged landscape and its status as the birthplace of Rob Roy and William Wallace, as well as modern-day macho men such as Sean Connery, Gordon Ramsay and Gerard Butler.
We topped the poll with 26 per cent of the vote, followed by Australia (16), England (15), Russia (14) and Finland (seven).'

That gets a LOL, and a snort.
They have to admit, we did receive the best of the best prior to the revolution.
Free trade gave the Irish farm families three choices when the potato crops failed: starve on their farms, while selling their grain crops and paying their rent; report to the Public Works or the Poor Law workhouses to be worked/starved to death or emigrate and take a 50 percent chance of surviving the passage across the Atlantic.
The Irish population was officially 8.1 million in 1845. Some 1.5 million died of starvation and disease in Ireland in four years, while more than one million attempted to emigrate; of these, about 500,000 died—usually of typhus—in passage or in quarantine camps in Canada and New England.
Based on the above “my people” should be entitled to a plot of land and welfare for life.
Me I’m doing ok and at one time was a commercial fisherman !
I am half Scots and the rest, as near as anyone can tell is Irish. I came from a generation more concerned about my descendants than my ancestors so no one among my older relatives was all that sure about the Scottish part either. I am prouder of the 100% American identity than the Irish or Scottish traces but to each his own.
Still can’t believe the guy on the right played Hitler.
Ahem (clearing throat)
@&*&$! @&*&$! @&*&$! @&*&$! you stupid @&*&$!
The happiest man alive is an Irishman on strike.
They created St Patrick's day so they wouldn't have to work.
The Scots are inspired to fight by the passion & spirit of their Celtic ancestors, and capable of winning by the leading edge technology and skills of their Viking ancestors.
Now the most socialist area in the UK. Sad. Scotland has a big influence on the origins of classical liberalism; the intellectual foundation for “conservatism.”

Viva la France.
Isn’t Scotts society a disarmed society?
The French needed the Indians to beat the Brits, buying their services with front row seats during Paris Fashion Week. Stinking French.
The Scottish women can decide the manliest men, after fighting it out the traditional way: bare breasted and holding an eight-pound baby.

I was staying in a fleabag hotel in Baghdad back in the day. In the bar, I linked up with a couple of Yorkshire Lads who were commercial a/c installers. One guy told me that they were going into a pub on Argyle Street in Glasgow after work one day. One of them went into the mens room and the other went into the bar to order beers. The guy in the bar was standing next to a big brute of a Scot. My pal went to order for he and his bud, when the Big Brute said, “let’s dhrrrrink!” My pal said no thanks, he was waiting on his mate. The Big Brute pulled an axe from his tool belt and said, “Ah said, ‘let’s dhrrrink!’” and buried the blade of the axe into the bar. My pal then graciously accepted the Big Brute’s kind offer.
One of my favorite all-time Python sketches....”They mean to win Wimbledon!”
Dang, hitting that tree on the way down had to leave a mark.
Scots living in Texas are the toughest!
