By Tuesday evening, then, I was half-convinced that Palin was stealthily moving toward an announcement. Then on Friday, she released a two-minute online video about her Iowa trip that everyone -- even the wizards who had previously been certain she wasn't running -- agreed looked like an honest-to-goodness campaign ad. The signals seemed clear enough that Karl Rove (who is clearly no Palin fanboy) declared she now "looks like a candidate, not a celebrity" and expressed his belief that Palin will get into the race. But if a certified Beltway elitist like Rove is now convinced she's running, wouldn't Palin be obliged to prove him wrong by not running? So I called up McCormick to ask if she believed that an announcement was in the works for the September 3 "Restoring America" rally, and the Iowa for Palin volunteer wasn't sure. "People think if [Palin's speech] doesn't say, 'Hi, I'm Sarah Palin, I'm running for president,' it will be not a good deal. But I really think she's going to give a monster speech."
The only two people who really know what Palin is planning, McCormick said, are Sarah and Todd. The rest of us will just have to wait until she announces. But her Iowa organizers are still convinced Palin is getting in -- a matter of "when," not "if," they say. Others may doubt, but the True Believers still believe.

The Republicans have never caught on to the fact that the Dems win with a consensus candidate.
“In the Iowa straw poll one can vote multible times if he is willing to pay the thirty dollars”
OK, but if Paul supporters are passionate enough to buy multiple chances to vote, I guess I would distinguish that from their being passionate enough to break the law by genuine ballot stuffing. There is a distinction between legal and illegal behavior.
You can’t love someone and not want them to be POTUS?
I am a very strong woman who wants a strong man to lead this country. I do love Sarah, just don’t support her in the primaries. If she should be nominated then she will have my support.
I guess it depends on your definition of ballot stuffing...doing something that intentionally skews the results may not always be illegal but it is never really honest. Of course he is not the only one who does this but his followers are known for doing it consistently. And he never has voiced opposition to it. He wins a lot of polls for a candidate who seldom gets out of the single digits!!!
Will the Constitution be stronger or weaker; will we have more freedom and more personal liberty or less because of this person's leadership?
Of the candidates so far, there are only two: Cain and Bachmann that seem the most trustworthy.
I like Cain, but there's a certain polish that comes from being in the game and he's just getting started. It shows.
Bachmann, otoh, has been in the fighting in hostile territory for a while. She is good on her feet and can convincingly deliver a common sense message. But, the gaffs...we're still in first impressions territory and 'Happy Birthday, Elvis!' is not a lasting first I'd go with.
I've heard of Perry, but didn't know much about him other than Texas is doing well and he's the Governor. I like some of what he says and enjoyed his Bernanke "almost treasonous in my opinion" comments.
But, the more I researched him, the less I like. He doesn't pass the trust test. If there has to be a standard issue GOP establishment candidate, he almost makes me prefer Romney. They're two heads of the same coin.
Strong Man!! When Sarah was attacked from all sides none of the Republican candidates came to her support. I wouldn’t want any of them in a fox hole with me. Sarah only.
Why is she playing this cat and mouse “yes I will, no I wont” game? Either get in or get out and quit playing the voters for suckers!
If we trust her to be PRESIDENT, we should trust her to run her CAMPAIGN effectively.Sarah Palin has the best political "intuition" of any politician in recent memory -- and she **has** to have considered all of the concerns that many of her supporters have expressed -- so I suggest that we just sit back, and ENJOY watching her in action.
Be careful. She hasn’t started menopause yet.
Why? What's so magical about the 3rd? What's the hurry FRiend? The game is playing on Sarah's time table. Just hang on a while longer.

But to compare him to Alan Keyes is a stretch...that guy is truly in a class by himself! Not even Ron Paul deserves to be compared to Alan Keyes!
LOL.......... Okay ten lashes with a wet noodle.
I admit it maybe a stretch to compare Paul to Keyes.
Hey! Army Guy ever heard of Gen Stonewall Jackson. He said his success in battle was because of mystery. She has a plan.
Think about this.My guess is that Governor Palin will make it VERY CLEAR that she is running in her speech on 9/3, without "officially" saying so...She gets the Whole Tea Party worked up, She gets all her opponents worked up, She gets all the media worked up, she gets GOP establishment worked up and Dems worked up.
Puts out a great speech showing Obama how leadership is done then holds out on her decision.
The media goes nuts.
Its all over the place. It's really big news. Everybody is talking about it. A lot of free publicity.
Her opponents are left wondering what to do next. The Dems are in a frenzy.
Then she holds out to very last minute, getting into the race. This gives a couple more weeks of advantage where she hints around to the Grand finally, when she has come into the race dominating with another big grandstand event and blows everybody away..
Everyone know she's going to run, but she's got everyone's attention!!!!!!!!
Anticipation builds for great participation at least that is what my daddy taught me....
...and then use the media frenzy surrounding THIS event to promote her NEXT event......the "official" announcement, somewhere "politically significant" -- like Washington, D.C. -- or Boston, or Alaska.
Fred Thompson.
Ronald Reagan
and ...
Be careful. She hasnt started menopause yet.
Interesting. Your (implied) objections to Palin seem to spring purely from emotion, yet I get the sense that you are suggesting that Palin is too emotion-driven to trust with the Presidency! {^)
“Teasing?”
Dead wrong.
And a cheap shot.
If you wait long enough, the GOP will choose a candidate for you.
I understand your concerns but it won’t happen this time.
Let’s not let the media or the old GOP elites define the narrative again.
This is Sarah’s game and Sarah’s rules.
There are many more of “us” then there are of “them”.
Just hang on.
