As NewsBusters has been reporting, Obama-loving media have been working overtime excusing the President for taking a vacation at Martha's Vineyard as average Americans struggle in a down economy.
Perhaps the most disgusting example yet came on this weekend's "The Chris Matthews Show" when the host actually connected the attacks on 9/11 to former President George W. Bush's vacation in August the month before (video follows with transcript and commentary):

MATTHEWS: Well President Bush gave that speech from his Crawford ranch where he spent the entire month of August on vacation. Jon Stewart had this quip.
JON STEWART, “THE DAILY SHOW”: My president went on vacation. All I got was this lousy sense of impending doom.

MATTHEWS: Impending doom. While clearly a joke, it was very prescient. That was just five weeks before 9/11.
How disgusting.
Of course, what Matthews and other Obama-loving so-called journalists conveniently ignore is that Bush's sojourns to Crawford were considered working vacations.
This should have been obvious even to a shill like Matthews who noted during this segment that Bush's stem cell address came from Crawford.

All President vacations are working vacations. I don’t care who the party. You have daily briefs, signing paperwork, etc. It is so ridiculous for both sides to complain about vacations. But it makes people feel good I guess. Obama just passed new “amnesty” nonsense on his vacation. Fun times! The bottom line is I am so grateful to not be President. What an awful existence when 1/2 the population hates you. Plus for only 400K and an expense account is not near enough. A lot of people would have to take a pay cut to become President....no thanks.

I guess the author does not listen to Bush-hating George Noory and regular guests on CoastToCoastAM. This has long been talked about -- including that famous August presidential briefing which -- C2C folks love to spin as actually describing the events to occur on 9/11 -- Bush ignored and off to "yet another vacation."

I got the book from the library, it's very good. I refuse to buy it because of Lance's interviews -- on C2C where else? -- where he pretty much blames Bush (that Aug. briefing and adviser Rice "the terrorists would likely hijack planes" (paraphrasing). His book sticks a little closer to objective facts.
Lance is no truther but the truthers go even further..

Planning for the 9/11 attack went all the way back to 1999. Matthews, typically, doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
this is making me believe that these attacks are more like planned because he is not doing anything.
It probably means that Obama bought into the theory a long time ago and every vacation is taken in the hope that another 9/11 happens so he can take drastic measures against us while privately thanking the terrorists...

Ditto all of the above. Gorelick, especially, should be up for treason. She single-handedly hamstrung the entire interconnected flow of information of the intelligence services of the country. What she did is so indefensible even she can't stomach her own spin. It was a staggeringly open-faced sabotage of America. That she still walks free is revolting.
