What, exactly, is a US Day of Rage? Well, on September 17th we may find out for certain, but until then, The Blaze is revealing what information does exist about this very nefarious-sounding campaign.
A US Day of Rage is the title given to a day of ostensibly non-violent civil disobedience orchestrated by a group of radicals that reportedly include SEIUs Stephen Lerner and ACORN founder Wade Rathke (who, coincidentally, formerly served as president of SEIUs local New Orleans branch) targeting Wall Street and U.S. capitalism. Its worth noting that the title of the movement if its intentions are indeed non-violent in nature appears to contradict itself slightly.
But what is perhaps even more interesting than its title is who is allegedly behind the movement.

We will have signs made up with clever slogans(made of earth friendly materials of course); and we will chant some nifty chants.
Mortgage backed securities have been around since there have been mortgages.
the problem was that the banks were forced to give mortgages to people who never should have gotten them. The CRA was the thing that really started us down the road years ago.
One of the problems is that the big money center banks are confused with the guy running a branch on the corner. The banker on Main street had very little to do with our issues.

"Gleeful about the raging riots that held England captive this week, the tweet has gone out to activists and disaffected youth to occupy wall street Sept 17 today. Social Networks FaceBook and Twitter are abuzz with plans for coming anarchy on U.S. soil.
The Days of Rage will continue beyond the occupation of Wall Street with activists being told bring your tent.

The original "Day(s) of Rage"
Days of Rage riots (1969)
The Days of Rage riots in Chicago took place over a 4-day period beginning October 8, 1969, after members of the Weathermen, a militant offshoot of the Students for a Democratic Society, converged on the city to confront police in the streets in response to the trial of the group of anti-Vietnam War activists known as the "Chicago Eight".

Exclusive: Bill Ayers Talks About Election Night in Grant Park
[Obama win brings commie Ayers to tears]
From NBC Chicago, Jan 21, 2009:
Bill Ayers was "overflowing with happiness, relief, love" when he and his wife went to Grant Park with tens of thousands of Chicagoans to celebrate the election of President Barack Obama.
Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, spoke exclusively with NBC Chicago's Dick Johnson about why they joined the Election Night celebration in the park, where 40 years before they helped stage the Days of Rage riots.
The couple said they got last-minute tickets from a friend to be in Grant Park that night.
"I couldn't stop crying a couple of times. I found the exact spot where I was beaten 40 years ago," Ayers said. "But I've never been in a crowd that large that wasn't edged with either anger or drunkenness or gluttony, and it was really an extraordinary feeling."

Anarcho-syndicalism
A common Anarcho-Syndicalist flag.
In the early 20th century, anarcho-syndicalism arose as a distinct school of thought within anarchism.[78] With greater focus on the labour movement than previous forms of anarchism, syndicalism posits radical trade unions as a potential force for revolutionary social change, replacing capitalism and the state with a new society, democratically self-managed by the workers.
Anarcho-syndicalists seek to abolish the wage system and private ownership of the means of production, which they believe lead to class divisions. Important principles include workers' solidarity, direct action (such as general strikes and workplace recuperations), and workers' self-management. This is compatible with other branches of anarchism, and anarcho-syndicalists often subscribe to anarchist communist or collectivist anarchist economic systems.[79] Its advocates propose labour organization as a means to create the foundations of a non-hierarchical anarchist society within the current system and bring about social revolution.

"It was at the Chicago home of [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming 'community organizer,' had his political coming out party in 1995. Not content with this rite of passage in Lefty World where unrepentant terrorists are regarded as progressive luminaries, still working 'only to educate' both Obamas tended to the relationship with the Ayers."

In this photo from a December 11, 2008 Marxist.com article, the protesters can be seen giving the communist fist salute.
Marxist.com is obviously a pro-communist website.
And here they are with large red (communist) flags...
"After four days of struggle we can now start to draw some first clear conclusions. Without any doubt this movement deserves the title of 'teenager uprising'. We have here a new generation of tens of thousands of school students erupting in a huge explosion, the biggest for 20 years, if not even more, in Greece. We have clear symptoms of an instinctive revolutionary spirit, and a clear tendency to target not only the present bourgeois government but also the bourgeois state and the capitalist system as a whole."

The masked ones, as they are known, hold informal assemblies each day, where everyone has a chance to discuss where this revolution is headed. They even debate whether it is a revolution. It is a social riot, said another gate guard, and its still going on. We dont know yet where it will lead.

PROFILE: Wade Rathke
"[Wade] Rathke hails from a family of prosperous orange ranchers in Orange County, California. During the late 1960s he attended Williams College in Massachusetts but dropped out before graduating. He thereafter became a draft-resistance organizer for the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), and an organizer for George Wileys National Welfare Reform Organization (NWRO). (For details on NWRO, see the separate entries for George Wiley and the Cloward-Piven Strategy.)"

The people who fill the ranks of protesters are not students - not intellectuals they're not even necessarily leftists.
The rank and file 'protesters' are there by court ordered - doing "community service'.
Remanded over to nonprofit organizations to do 'community service', these people with 'authority problems' are not necessarily political. But they are useful to fill out a crowd. Leftists nonprofits are using low level criminals to fill the ranks of 'protesters'.
Our dumb as the bed-board 'press' doesn't seem able to ask the simplest questions of liberal protesters to uncover this trick. Why? What's keeping the press from looking?
If the Tea Party was doing this reporters for the New York Times and Washington Post would catch it. Is it more than bias?
Many editors are aging hippies - they WANT TO BELIEVE the sixties are still here. In their minds they're still young and girls are ready and able to come - running - for smart young journalists.
The press- ever vigilant with the Tea Party loses all curiosity when dealing with liberal groups. They live in past glory ... Might be time for newsrooms denizens to grow up, smell the roses, and start covering events with grown up honesty.
Sadly ironic that it is that very Constitution which allows these lefties to “rage” against the societal structure that the Constitution has fostered.
Lucy - thanks for the ping.
I know how radical aging hippies ‘leaders’ get people to show up for ‘demonstrations’.

Got a speeding ticket? Need to do 400 hours of ‘community service? Travel to New York - and get your service done in one weekend....

Nice piece, but you should have made more clear that you were first quoting someone else, and also that it came from the article linked at the top.
Am I correct, your comments begin with “Our dumb as the bed-board ‘press’ doesn’t seem able to ask the simplest questions of liberal protesters...”
Sorry to nitpick, but we need to be as clear as possible with these things. :)
September 16th is the date that Constitution Day is observed this year (because Sept. 17th is a Saturday). So it would be appropriate for conservatives to rage at the continuous shredding of the Constitution by the Obama administration.
"The series of protests and demonstrations across the Middle East and North Africa has become known as the "Arab Spring",[28][29][30][31][32][33] and sometimes as the "Arab Spring and Winter",[34] "Arab Awakening"[35] or "Arab Uprisings"[36] even though not all participants in protests identify as Arab. It was sparked by the first protests that occurred in Tunisia on 18 December 2010 following Mohamed Bouazizi's self-immolation in protest of police corruption and ill treatment.[37][38] With the success of the protests in Tunisia, a wave of unrest struck Algeria, Jordan, Egypt, and Yemen,[39] then spread to other countries, with the largest, most organised demonstrations often occurring on a "day of rage", usually Friday after noon prayers.[40][41][42] The protests have also triggered similar unrest outside the region."
Obama and the Class Envy Card
http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/08/obama_and_the_class_envy_card.html
The Obama tactic of calling for more taxes on the rich is purely political, and intended to focus anger at the wealthy and to demagogue the Republicans. He and his party are desperate to avoid answering for their failed policies. It is the most crass and mendacious of tactics and one befitting a person with no character and integrity that he would pit Americans against Americans for his personal gain while further damaging the economy and the future of succeeding generations.
