It's the Ultimate Arrival for the Obama’s and a way too upstage all of the Old Money and Nouveau Riche on the Vineyard. It's all about conspicuous consumption and flaunting what you got.

Back in the days of Rome, people who wanted to be big shots flaunted their wealth by having extravagant banquets where the host and guests gorged themselves till they were so full they vomited. After vomiting, they would go back to stuffing themselves all over again.

They even had a room called a vomitorium built expressly for this purpose.

Vomiting in public is no longer cool and Michelle has food issues, so Airplanes seem to be their favored form of showing off.

Air Force one is all about flaunting power and position.

The Gulf Stream Biz Jet is all about wealth and Hollywood/Rock Star cool. It's plane of choice for those beautiful who have arrived in a big way.

Michelle takes the GIV so she can get in touch with her inner Diva when she goes to frolic with the upscale, elite and trendy people she wants to impress and upstage in the Vineyard.

At the same time, her husband makes the scene in Air Force 1 which puts all of the power players and big shots in their place and upstages all of the people who were not properly upstaged by Michelle's Gulf Stream entourage.

Commuting from the airport to the Mansion via Marine 1 helicopter is the icing on the cake. Dude - that's one helo you can't buy no matter how much you got or how old your money is.

Sounds like what you’re saying is that we, the taxpayers, are footing the bill for their marital problems. If that’s the case. Taking seperate planes to avoid each other costs US a lot. They need to take lessons from the Clintons. They didn’t much care for each other but they didn’t do what these two grifters are doing. They need to bite the bullet and bury their feelings for each other and at least travel together. It would cost US a lot less $$$$$.
