Memorial to commemorate the murdered unborn children erected in Poland.
[Papal Hill, the outskirts of Lubon near Poznan, Poland]
In the place named Papal Hill in Lubon, Poland, the local people erected a monument named "Testimony of Love" which aims at paying tribute to the murdered unborn children and bearing witness to their innate right to live in dignity.
The inscription on the monument (the words in the red below) is an excerpt taken from DEUTERONOMY, 30.19
[Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live]
"...Choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live..." Deuteronomy 30,19
How very beautiful. Thank you for posting, Matt_DZ_PL.
Ping.
You’re welcome. Perhaps, the Western world is not yet lost.
Very good. I wish we would have something like this here in the U.S everywhere.
Need to have this here in the USA !
Follow suit, at will, and God bless.
Absolutely beautiful!
Anyone have any idea why the roman numeral V is in gold while all the others aren’t?
“Absolutely beautiful!”
Yes!
Thank you for posting.. it is just beautiful. The large hand and small, curled up child... stunning.
The former Soviet controlled Poland, where secular Soviet style socialism ruled, today is erecting monuments like this and to those like Ronald Reagan. Then look at the contrast to Western Europe, how ironic!
The hand you’re talking about belongs to God. You can guess that by the inscription referring to the proper verse of the Bible.
It reads “I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing...
So, God gives life and blessing to people, here, symbolized by that pretty little baby on the palm, and then asks them to choose it and adopt it, knowing that they may also reject it and...kill it.
Eventually, instead of choosing live and blessing, people deny God and and destroy that greatest gift of His.
And that’s the tragedy, that’s the memorial for. :-(
I am Polish. In my native language ‘murder’ and ‘kill’ are almost synonymous. Naturally, I speak English and I know that ‘kill’ is a lot weaker compared than ‘murder’.
Nevertheless, Ten Commandments are translated into contemporary Polish with a negative form “Don’t...”, since the form “You shall not...”, we have in medieval translations of the Bible, is very archaic in the Polish language nowadays.
While the English word ‘kill’ may be used to objects too, it’s just beyond comprehension to use this word in Polish that way. In the Polish language, “kill” means to deprive a LIVING BEING of its/his/her life. When applied to animals, it sounds weak, but as to humans, it sounds strong enough, almost like ‘murder’.
Personally, I thing the word “murder” is the proper one, but using the word ‘kill’ is a question of a long-aged Polish tradition.
The word ‘kill’ may be used to animals, as well. However, everybody instinctivelly knows, which is obvious, God refers to human beings only, not animals. What’s more, He does it the way the English word ‘murder’ sounds perfectly enough to express His real intentions.
What a lovely and fitting memorial. Thanks for your posts; it’s good to have you here on FR! How’d you find us?
Hmm, the remnats of the glorious past of the Western world - that's what you are.
I hope one small day Obama's reality will fade away once and for all. Keep faith, those hordes of muslim and marxist savages on the streets of Paris, Madrid, London, Rome (hopefully, still not Warsaw) shows strong enough how much the world still needs America of Ronald Reagan and George Bush.
It's really refreshing to be here on FR.
