Beck Furious After Boehner Doesn’t Allow Congressmen To Attend Rally.
mediatie ^ | 08/17/11 | Jon Bershad

Today on his radio show, [Glenn] Beck let loose with a torrent of anger and frustration at an issue he described as having been going on for a few weeks now. Before he began, Beck said he would post what he was going to say online, thus forever disproving anyone who thought he was a “shill” for the Republican Party.

Considering the amount of venom he then let out towards the GOP establishment, he can consider his point made.

It all started with a conversation with Rep. Joe Walsh who described sadly the fact that House Speaker Boehner’s office had denied his and other congressmen’s requests to attend Beck Israel rally in an official capacity as a fact-finding mission. Beck maintained his composure during the call with Walsh, offering the Illinois Congressman a free GBTV membership to watch from there. However, you could hear just how frustrated he was with the whole situation as he wondered allowed if Boehner wasn’t just punishing Tea Party Republicans for not voting for his debt plan.

Then, once Walsh was off the line, Beck really got into it:

“Speaker Boehner, you should be ashamed of yourself. The Republican Party should be ashamed of themselves. They don’t have to attend my event. Let them come to our biggest ally and our only friend in the Middle East in their hour of need. They don’t have to attend my event! In fact, I’ll ban them. Does that make you happy? Let Congress come here! You should be ashamed of yourself for playing politics. That’s what it is, Boehner, and you know it. The Republican Party sickens me.”

I didn’t say they were there WITH him. READ what I said.
I said there is a Republican delegation there NOW and the event isn’t until the 24th, so Boehner would have to authorize another delegation IF they wanted to officially attend the rally, and I don’t think he could justify it.

Sorry.

If you can't make the conceptual jump from the one point to the other, by way of comparison, you have no business using terms like “non sequitur.”

Well that would be a DIFFERENT reason for a delegation then, wouldn’t it?

How ‘bout checking your premises before playing the “outhouse litigator” card, why don’t you?

What crawled up your butt? I didn’t even give a premise. I just made three simple statements of FACT. You inferred something which I had not even implied. Are you always this rude?

You took the words right out of my mouth. I don’t think anyone who is ranting on this thread listened to the clip. Amazing.

I think you hit on the reason he left Fox OR was invited to leave Fox - his show wasn’t staying focused on politics but becoming more religion-based.

“Plans for the U.N.’s “anti-racism” event known as Durban III, which will be held in New York City on September 22, 2011, just got a whole lot uglier. A new draft of the final declaration that U.N. organizers hope will be adopted by over a hundred world leaders, who will be on hand for the annual opening of the General Assembly, is now circulating. And a coalition of extremist non-governmental organizations has announced plans to spend four days in New York around the time of the event to champion a pointed message: Zionism is racism, which fits with the Durban Declaration, adopted in South Africa in 2001 that charged Israel – and only Israel – with racism.”

He left, he wasn’t kicked off. I would say his choice to leave was well timed and he probably was being restricted as to what he could say and do.

What makes you think it was BS?

“Beck kicked off Fox”

I think the separation has to do with business. Beck has big plans for his own company — it may become a competitor of Fox.

Your premise was Boehner could not justify a second delegation in support of a major event sponsored by a prominent American in support of an ally, was it not? (And exactly who he needs to justify it to, I have no idea)

And yes, I am always this rude with commentators who sneer at issues they clearly do not understand. Not necessarily you, per se, but everyone on this thread reaching up their poop chutes to pull out a reason to marginalize an unprecedented gesture of goodwill toward the people who represent the very core of western civilization.

“Beck was kicked off Fox”

He wasn’t. He said late last year that he didn’t know where he would be by the end of this year. He said a couple of times on air, once on BOR, that there were things he couldn’t say on air on Fox. Fox had, as did he, somewhere around FIVE administration ‘officials’ come to each executive office and, essentially, threaten them. Each. There was at least one incident against his FAMILY over a year ago.

Fox was not his primary income. I think he has moved to the heart of the matter: Western civilization, more specifically, the prophetic Second Coming of Jesus Christ. We are, after all, fighting the ancient evil once again, even if some of us don’t want to believe or face that.

“Wonder why Beck was kicked off Fox?”

As far as anyone knows, he wasn’t fired. As he pointed out a few times before his last show, he began talking about not staying another year many, many months before, because there was something more important he felt like he was meant to do.

Folks, Joe Walsh going alone, without security, would be an invitation to disaster. There are 35 conservative members of the House in this category of Joe Walsh. Boehner has threatened ethics violations/investigations if they go.

Maybe they can get security somehow, but that would be a major security function. And, it would be necessary for the Joe Walshes of the US House, were they to attend the function.

Didn’t he mention that today ? or maybe it was yesterday that he spoke of being “threatened” by the admin....I cant remember the exact word(s) he said about it , that’s why threatened is in quotes...

Seeing as how I am an Orthodox Jewess with family in Israel and a huge Beck fan, and a fan of this rally, not to mention the home of my Heritage, Israel, I did no such thing. I merely stated three facts. And Boehner would have to justify sending another delegation so soon. Especilly with everyone and their mother watching how every pol spends our money. I also do not know if it is a foreign policy issue. Maybe someone should talk to Boehner.
The rally itself was supposed to be held at The Temple Mount, but because of the number of threats, they had to change venues. Now, I don’t know if that moved the date or not, but security is a problem for this. Having US Congressmen there would be a double incentive for a terror attack. I am not going to blame Boehner for this tight now because I don’t know his reasons. He is as much a friend to Israel as anyone in Congress. That’s a fact.
