New details about Operation Fast and Furious cast doubt on the ability of the Justice Departments Office of Inspector General to conduct an independent and fair investigation, congressional Republican investigators say.
The information comes via a letter Sen. Chuck Grassley and Rep. Darrell Issa sent to Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday. In it, they question a request from Holder for a transcript from a meeting they held in secret on July 4th with Ken Melson, acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

General Kimsey: I wouldn't trust the
Obama and Holder "Justice" Department
with a potato gun.
Holder asks for documents in order to build his defense?
Holder is in panic-mode over Melson’s 4th of July testimony.
Issa should publicly ask Holder why he wants that information and hint that they may look into investigating why he would ask for such confidential info.
He needs to start by investigating himself.
IMHO, he’s up to his eyeballs in the middle of this mess. I wouldn’t be surprised if we learn that he’s the instigator of the whole mess now know as Fast and Furious/Gunwalker
Doesn’t Holder owe Issa some documentation that had been requested? “I’ll give you some of mine when you fess up with yours.”
They are after the “traitor” within their own ranks. Need to clean out the non-believers of the omnipotence of Zero.
Is there some reason Holder isn’t investigating Issa?
Or is this the first shot?
He doesn’t want them looking at the documents any more than they already have. It may be incriminating evidence. Didn’t he already redact all the good parts before they were passed on to Issa?
Dear Mr. Issa,
If you must give holder the docs, give him COPIES of them, not the originals.
I expect all of this will just quitely go away.
Holder isn’t going to investigate.
There should be an independant council looking at this and the chips fall where they may ... but that’ll probably not happen.
This is good. I hope Grassley and Issa keep turning up the heat.
You hit the nail on the head.
Heavily redacted, of course
Let him do it as part of discovery.
“Is there some reason Holder isnt investigating Issa? Or is this the first shot?”
Note that our super sleuth SEC is now investigating Standard & Poors for their downgrade of the U.S. credit rating. Can’t have more Joe the Plumbers reminding folks of how things really are. Somehow, though, they didn’t have time to investigate Bernie Madeoff-with all your money.
Another move in the chess game. Every time Holder/Obama move a chess piece, they already have their next moves planned. NOTHING happens by mistake . . . unless Zero is away from his teleprompter.
