Ex-Massachusetts Gov. Willard Mitt Romney has a two-to-one lead in New Hampshire over newly announced, much-ballyhooed Texas Gov. Rick Perry, according to a new poll for the New Hampshire Journal.
Romney scores 36 percent to 18 percent for Perry in the test heat for the first-in-the-nation primary. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, scores 14 percent and Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is at 10 percent.
Bachmann has built a following among Iowa caucus-goers, but may not do so well when she arrives in the Granite State. Both registered Republicans and Independents are allowed to vote in New Hampshire.
Romney, who owns a lavish summer retreat in New Hampshire, is viewed favorably by a 66-24 percent margin among potential voters. Perry is also in positive territory at a less impressive 51-37 percent.
With Bachmann, however, there is a split. The ultraconservative congresswoman gets strongly positive marks from conservatives, but is viewed negatively (by a 51-40 percent margin) among Independent voters.
Other Republican hopefuls barely register.

I think he will win New Hampshire and then vanish. Majority of folks who win New Hampshire never win the nomination (if I remember right). At least more lose than win for sure.
Not surprising to me. If he wins, fine with me. And I like Perry, too. Like I say, I like them ALL. I like the “establishment guy”, the gal, the Texan, the Libertarian, the pizza guy. I LOVE them ALL! Go get Obama!
Mitt will not go easily . The establishment Repubs want him to get the nod .
Seriously?

I’m not a Romney fan at all, but he is far from an America hating, Kenyan socialist.
The establishment Pubbies had best be careful what they wish for. If NittWitt Mitt gets the nomination, there will be a 3rd party. Just what the Dems want.
Establishment Pubbies, if you want to kill the GOP dead, nominate Mitt.
You are forewarned....
Romney will win the electoral vote if he only carries the states he has lived in and owns a home in!
Oh no. Perry better get up there right away to glad had the 12 people in Dixville Notch. Don’t want to lose that important state for Primaries.
They haven’t picked a winner in 20 years on the GOP side. Please let Romney win there.
Interesting. Thanks for that, americaophile.
Not as far as you might think.
Not interesting. It’s called “Massholes.”
His religion is a problem for him, there’s no denying it.
I could never vote for him, I consider anybody who is Mormon to be lacking in the judgment needed to run this country.
If Romney gets the nomination will you sit out the election?
Even if he wins the New Hampshire state—he will fade. He is caught in the 18 wheeler Semi truck that in Perry. In less Perry does a major gaff he’s got it—maybe he can select Palin as his VP? Or Mitt? I would like to see him tap Trump.
Big whoop, considering Rommey been in the race for Four Years and Perry for Four Days.
LOL, good point.
