Obama dares Republicans to block his coming jobs package (Obama's grasping at straws)
LA Times ^ | 8/16/2011 | James Oliphant

After pledging to send a job-creation package to Congress next month and daring Republicans to block it, President Obama offered few specifics Tuesday about the form the plan might take as he stuck to a broad outline of how to improve the economy.

On the second day of Obama's three-day bus tour of the upper Midwest, the president worked off the blueprint he had used the day before, offering proposals such as extending a payroll tax cut, spending money to repair roads and bridges, and ratifying pending trade agreements.

And he continued to hammer away at Republicans in Congress, suggesting they stand in the way of economic growth, even as some Democrats expressed discomfort with what they saw as a potentially divisive stance.

"We could do even more if Congress is willing to get in the game," Obama said to a gathering of small-business owners, community leaders and rural development experts at a small college in Peosta, Iowa.

Obama holds his palm in front of his face ... then says “Go ahead ... try and hit my hand”.

Seriously, does it ever occur to him that making stuff, selling stuff, exporting stuff might actually grow the economy and provide real jobs?

He's never had a real job, doesn't know what one is, and has no idea where they come from.

Whatever his plan is, it will involve massive spending and increased government interference in the marketplace. And the end result - >9% unemployment.

Ubama is like the guy who angrily picks a fight but as soon as he sees the other guy is about to step up, he looks over his shoulder at his friends and says, “Hold me back. Somebody hold me back!”

Obama could easily win this election. (Tongue in cheek, because he would never do this) Simply instruct congress to write two bills; one repealing Obamacare and one repealing Frank-Dodd. The resulting economic boon would garner support of the folks that really do not pay attention (most, the increase in government revenue would fund more social programs and allow him to buy votes.

He would actually become so popular that he could possibly make gains in both houses and re-instate obamacare and frank dodd after the election.

A real nightmare scenario!

If pubbies were smart, they would get out ahead of Odumbo and make it clear they will not support more infrastucture nonsense for job creation. That was done in the big pork bill and it failed. Obama wants to trap them into going along with more of what doesn’t work.

They need to start pumping the media with the total failure and absurdity of doing the same thing over and over.

When given the media opportunity they need to cut Obama off at the pass prior to his foolish “jobs bill”.

We don’t need a bill to create jobs. We need to negate his ruinous bills that have worsened the situation.

Thing is, they usually aren’t smart. Hear that Boehner?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhaahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaha.

Do you seriously believe the stuff you are writing Billy Gunn? Obama will never repeal ObamaCare. And even if he did, he wouldn't win re-election because of it. It would only cause Nader to enter the race and pull 3-4% from him. Obama wouldn't be able to pull any extra Republican votes, and he won't get any extra independent votes from making such a move. His votes depend on entitlements. He gets votes from people who are either extremely socially liberal, or who get his goodies.

Obama has probably a 40% chance at winning re-election right now, simply because of all the dumb people that vote. If he were to sign a repeal of ObamaCare (assuming it could even get through the Senate), it would doom him.

Oh yeah, a REAL SCARY scenario.

Hahahaha.

You and I agree that he would never do anything like this. But I disagree that he would not win independents if the economy suddenly improved drastically. Unlike yourself, a majority of the public does not pay attention unless they are being affected negatively (that is the case presently).

Will someone please explain to me how this is legit, not a set up photo-op. How could the most protected human on the planet and his Secret Service allow a total stranger to hug the 0 who within a nanosecond could be subject to a deranged assassin, a knife wielding nut case etc?

Secret Service agent thinking "Stay calm, keep your hands clasped; that's a White House staffer, not much to worry about."

Other White House staffer on the right (green top) yelling "C'mon everyone! Clap for the President!" [thinking]: Like we rehearsed, you flyover morons!
