I love the few, brave souls out there who are willing to say out loud what everybody else is thinking. Which is why, of course, I love Kathy Griffin. And I especially love her take on Michele Bachmann: "She's a comedian's dream. I don't know if she's good for the country, but she's good for comedy."
And after hearing the story Griffin told on Conan about her absolutely surreal run-in with Bachmann, there's no possible way anyone could argue with the comic's assessment of the straw-for-brains Straw Poll winner. I don't know how you could listen to Griffin's anecdote and not have about a million alarm bells instantly go off in your head.
I mean, what Bachmann said to Griffin was so mindless, so oblivious, so good-lord-this-woman-really-isn't-playing-with-a-full-deck-is-she ...
But I digress. Here's what happened:
Griffin was at an event in Washington, D.C., where she was organizing a rally to support the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell when the gods of comedy smiled upon her and she randomly ended up on the same escalator as Bachmann.
Seizing the moment, Griffin asked Bachmann if she could count on her support for the gay rights rally.
Bachmann answered this one predictably, with a bland, "I don't think so."
But Griffin's deliciously dark comic side came out with her next question:
"Congresswoman Bachmann, were you born a bigot or did you grow into it?"
Bachmann's response?
"That's a good question, I'm gonna have to get back to ya."
???????
I'm sorry, what?! Is this woman so incredibly dense that she doesn't know "bigot" is one of those accusations that's supposed to be immediately, visibly offensive? From this interaction, it would be logical to deduce that Bachmann thinks "bigot" is a perfectly acceptable lifestyle choice. Unless ... she must know what the word "bigot" means, right? Her vocabulary can't be that limited, can it?
Personally, I think the most likely reason for Bachmann's self-implicating response to Griffin's question is that, as a puppet for the GOP, she's not in the habit of saying words that somebody else didn't write for her first.
Either way, Griffin is right. This woman might be a nightmare for the country, but she's a comedian's dream, and a blogger's dream, too (if I do say so myself).
Why do you think Bachmann gave Kathy Griffin such a lame answer?
This woman is a retard
Kathy Griffin makes up a story and now it’s being passed around the internets as the truth? Corroboration? Video?
BS.
Just another D-list whore trying to stay relevant as a fag hag.
Alternate Headline:
“I’m A Lefty Moron Who Can’t Even Tell When A Politician Gives A Polite Blow-Off To An Obviously Slanted Question.”
You are posting this pile of garbage because...????
Snotty question deserved such a snotty condescending answer.
Why is there no barf alert for this headline?
Who? Kathy Griffin or this Jacqueline Burt woman who made up this BS?
What does it really matter? They’re both seriosly stupid.
Assuming that this really happened, which is doubtful, but not supporting a gay rights rally makes you a bigot? Really? Does Griffin support Catholic rights? Conservative rights? Gun rights? What a bigot this so-called comedienne must be!
Kathy Griffin is a brave soul? Since when? I thought she was a no talent skank who without the aid of profanity would be a mute. I would imagine that Michelle Bachmann was speechless with horror at having to interact with such a low life loser.
Maybe Bachmann is just too nice & couldn’t verbalize the more appropriate response, which would probably get me banned if I typed it!
Kathy Griffin is about as bright and funny as a rainy day at a cemetary.
When did she stop beating her husband?
Because she didn't want to get sued for smacking Griffin in the mouth?
To ridicule Griffin in the grand Alinsky tradition!
If you mean Kathy Griffin....I totally agree.

I don't do them. I assume you read the headline, you're an adult, and you can therefore figure it out for yourself. Was too much to ask in your case?
If I found myself on an escalator and asked him “Were you born a moron, or did you just grow into one”, I am sure that I would be called a “brave soul”.
It sounds like a comedian’s bad joke, purely fictional.
