Obama Conversation With Tea Partier Gets Heated

By Ed Henry

Published August 15, 2011 | FoxNews.com

DECORAH, Iowa – President Obama got into a heated back-and-forth Monday with a Tea Party activist who demanded to know at the end of a town hall meeting here whether Vice President Biden had called Tea Partiers “terrorists” during the debt ceiling debate on Capitol Hill.

In public, Obama did not directly answer the question from Iowa Tea Party activist Ryan Rhodes about Biden. But Obama fired back that he knows better than anyone what it’s like to be slammed for his political views and was not about to accept a lecture on the topic.

“Now, in fairness, since I’ve been called a socialist who wasn’t born in this country, who is destroying America and taking away its freedoms because I passed a health care bill, I’m all for lowering the rhetoric," Obama said.

Obama did say he would discuss the matter further with Rhodes, founder of the Iowa Tea Party, after the event. And the duo was spotted in an animated conversation a few moments later.

In an interview later with Fox News, Rhodes claimed that the president had insisted that Biden had not made the original comment.

“He just denied it. He said the vice president didn't make any of those assertions,” Rhodes said. “If he doesn’t want to even admit what was on TV nationally -- all over the place -- then how can you have a conversation?”

Two people began yelling questions at Obama.

I’m no Obama fan, but it simply came across as rude.

The Tea Party person should prepare for retribution -- IRS, etc.

Ears doesn't like being confronted -- in a public venue.

Scorched earth, politics of personal destruction, etc.

Rude? The time is long past for being civil with the National Socialist Democrat Party. By comparison with what they spew every day shouting questions is hardly rude when shouted at someone who won’t listen and who is upset that their scripted event was interrupted by the opposition. Conservatives are not rude enough with the party of traitors.

FUBO & FAD

“Rude? The time is long past for being civil with the National Socialist Democrat Party. “

Has the time long past for being smart? There is a national election in a year. Pravda has been doing it’s best to cast the tea party as crazy, white, racist extremists. Fully 40% of the electorate is Independent.

So you think playing into Pravda’s hand is a good idea?

Boy, that was obvious yesterday. If I had to take a shot every time he said “uh” I’d be an alcoholic.

The propaganda press and the democrat party is going to be rude, crude, and socially unacceptable regardless of how nice and proper conservatives are with them. Get a grip! Der Fuehrer calls for “bipartisanship” and civility with one breath and with the other accuses conservatives with caring more about their party than the country; yeah, that’s civility and an excellent example of what they’ve always done. So, you’re telling me that the supposed 40% who are independent will tolerate the democrat party incivility but not shouted questions? The shouted questions were not even close to rude behavior. What a load. This is a war to save the Constitution and Republic and going by Marquise of Queensbury rules while the other side never has and never will is handing the battle to the nazi socialist democrats.

A US president petulently arguing with a citizen.

Something else I never thought I'd see.

I don't feel sorry for him, not in any way, shape, manner or form.

Not as long as he's still doing unto us.

Don't know about you, but I'm much worse off since he and his progressive band of cretins have been in charge.

a) ‘Rude’ is a one word description of the left and its tactics. b) Pravda has never credited conservatives for playing nice. c) Pravda doesn’t need a reason to crap on conservatives.

Well having socialized medicine forced upon me seems rude too. This is no time for "being nice." These people are taking our country away ... and we want to "be nice"? That attitude is why we have a problem.
