President Barack Obama told an audience on the first stop of his bus tour that his original deficit reduction plan could have solved the nation’s debt problem “tomorrow” but House Speaker John Boehner walked away from the deal.
“The fact of the matter is that solving our debt and deficit problems simply requires all of us to share in a little bit of sacrifice, all of us to be willing to do a little bit more to get this country back on track and that’s not too much to ask,” Obama told a crowd in Cannon Falls, Minnesota on Monday.

I dislike circular firing squads as much as anyone...but in particular I am disgusted with Boehner (I never expected much out of Ruling-Class McConnell). I thought he'd at least be more than just a deal maker. When he said that he thought it was a moral imperative to protect baby-boomer's social security and medicare, and raise the debt ceiling, I lost all respect for him. He was giving away his negotiating position from the very start. He's either a very stupid man or just another Ruling-Class DC maven who doesn't understand the rest of the nation.

If he really had such a plan why didn't he take his oh so awesome plan to the American people? As an American very worried about the national debt I want to hear all about your plan. Tell us, Mr. President. We are all ears. (Not as much as you, be we are listening.)
Personally, I would also like to know why we can't go with a plan like Connie Mack's 1% plan while all this debating is going on.

The funny thing is he did have “a deal”, then he himself backed out of it at the last minute with an additional demand.
And of course he not only is “bluffing”, but is a crooked lier.
I had a deal to have sex with Katerine Zeta Jones. I never said it was a good or viable deal or even that she ever heard about my deal.
Reid was in on the actual deal he reached with Boehner. After that deal was agreed to, Zero tried to change it unilaterally, which is the point where Boehner walked because you can’t negotiate with someone whose word means nothing. It’s that later “deal” that he’s talking about. Why the heck the GOP isn’t repeating this information on a daily basis is beyond me.
