Maybe because their husband earns most of the $$ (Bachmann)?

Does their position as “public servant” forbid receiving speaking fees or book advances? Show me.

A couple of possibilities here:

1. Sarah’s not running and knows it so is lining up appearances for a topic dear to her heart: Defending the republic.

2. If she is running, wouldn’t it be considered a campaign appearance?? If so it would take away from the purpose of the event.

3. She made the commitment not knowing whether she would run. If she runs, she may cancel.

Bottom line — I’m leaning more and more towards her not running (she knows it’s unlikely she can win) and she’s lining up events so she can be a cheerleader for her position.

When did Free Republic become a socialist nanny-stater hotbed dominated by people against somebody else earning money legally?

Are you like Obama and think you it’s too much? Maybe you’re an elitist and feel you can spend it better than they can? Do you favor “spreading the wealth?”

Maybe you’re just jealous.

Seriously, it’s OK for somebody to prostitute themselves for votes and campaign contributions, but not to earn money from work?

How do you think Bachmann and Paul won the straw poll? MONEY. Where did the money come from? Contributions. Who do you think are the big donors to Romney and Perry? Rich people with lots of money and relatives whose names they can put on contributions. Why did Pawlenty exit? Because his poor showing meant he couldn’t raise any more MONEY.

I’m all for people earning money, the more the better. They turn around and spend it, invest it, and it the country grows. Conservatives believe that’s a good thing.

yeah the details of this appearance will emerge and that will give us a clue as to what she is up to.

However I reject the meme that she can’t win...for quite frankly my thoughts are if she does not take the nomination I don’t think anyone else will win.

Oh, so you think that not electing the Trademark will mean the end of America...LOL

Face it, Palin(™) is selling tickets (on sale Thursday - get yours!) not running for office.

October 7 is the day before the OU/Texas game. It would be perfect if Sarah and Beck were in Dallas instead of St. Louis. Just can’t pass up the opportunity to see the horns get crushed.

Unless a big part of her election strategy is that people like Glenn, Rush, Levin, etc. are going to come out and openly support her for president. Look at all the FREE air time.

I have previously made this prediction, so let’s see if I’m crazy or more prophetic than Beck.

How about you try a little honesty?

I have posted over and over that I am delighted that Palin(™) is getting as rich as Croesus. It's the American dream and I hope that she gets even richer.

I have also posted over and over that it is clear to me that her actions since quitting public servive have been directed toward personal financial enrichment ---- not running for another elected position.

If a handful of freepers get played for chumps along the way...well, what's the harm?

Point taken.

Allow me to clarify my point directed at a few here.

If earning an income (speaking fees, books, real estate transactions, etc.) means “they’re only in it for the money”, how do you exclude those, who are office holders currently, from the same criticism?

It matters not to you how a person earns money? You are blind, as well as morally vacant.

By the way, the sub-prime mortgage give-a-way was all ‘making money’ too. Should conservatives be thankful for that? In your convoluted world, yes they should.

Todd would have to run as an independent, wouldn’t he? I don’t think he is a registered Republican.

Ha!

You obviously don’t know Perry.

You’re argument is disingenuous: you’ll allow Perry to completely reverse himself on immigration, but you’ll hold Palin to comments she made while under the muzzle of the McCain campaign.

You are projecting on Perry what you want. He was challenged on the right by Medina for a reason. If she hadn’t flubbed that radio interview, there would have been a run-off between Medina and Perry, and I’m not sure he would have won.

Just to be clear, Perry is my governor. I pushed cards for him when he first ran for Ag commissioner as a Republican. He’s better than Romney, and both of them are better than president zero. Still, Perry is not even in my top three of announced candidates, let alone including Palin.
