Yup. She has said several times she will run an unconventional campaign. There is NO reason for a person with 100% or darn close to it name recognition to expose herself to the BS of the early slugfest. Makes no tactical sense.

Agree 100%. The stuff they’ve been forced to go through, simply because they dared to care about this country and shared a patriotic view that emphasizes independence and self-reliance, has been sickening and unconscionable. There’s no justification for it, despite the fact that much is offered. Todd Palin is indeed a man among men for the reason you suggest.

Pinged Windflier and Onyx as a point of interest.

A lot of people (general comment) wonder why some of us are so strident in our defense of the Palins. Aside from the fact that we believe strongly in what she represents and her thusfar stated positions, a lot of it has to do with the BS the media/GOP/Dems have and continue to put them through. When we see more of the same right here on FR and other sites, we do get very defensive. Our own supposedly ‘conservative’ people slinging the very same crap as the MSM? What gives?? To what end?

I have said repeatedly that She ain’t perfect and of course she should be questioned. I have a few questions myself. But just look at some of the crap that goes on on these threads. all the chicken**** “trademark” comments, claims over the entire family’s credibility, rehashed debunked nonsense over and over and over... and of course the now zotted Pissant type thing. How utterly Vile does this need to get?

I look at that kind of thing and ask how “any” fair minded person, supporter or not, can NOT get defensive. And heaven forbid a “Pailinsta” question Bachmann over hiring a RINO pit bull to run her campaign or Perry over his border/guardisil/Muslim issues. All legit issues, but somehow that’s bad and rabid cultish behavior.

And all this stupidity takes place on a site that polled 87% for Palin and whose owner calls “Palin Country?” Do these people normally walk into someone’s house and crap on their floor because they feel entitled to do so? Because with some of the comments, that’s exactly what they are in essence, doing. The lack of respect to the Palins as human beings, and to JR, to me, is disgusting. I wish someone would explain their “logic” to me because I sure don’t see it.

I understand differing opinions. That’s what makes for stimulating conversation. But once it degrades to tacky tricks like — trademark symbols, etc. — and repeating the same kinds of lies that can be read at any left extremist (and I encourage everyone to use this terminology) blog site and media outlet is just lowly behavior. It garners no respect. I don’t even bother with these sorts. They are lemmings with no ability for independent thought.

I wasn’t always a Palin supporter. I studied the matter hard. I asked lots of questions. Some on FR jumped in my face because I asked questions, and that was okay with me. But I came to my conclusion using my own deductive reasoning skills.

I would vote for her in a heartbeat. If the Repubs put any of these RINOS on the ticket, I’ll write her in. Why? Because a RINO on the ticket is a throw away to BHO and everyone knows it. So I will vote my conscious because my vote isn’t going to get me anywhere any way. If I’m wrong and a RINO wins the White House, no skin off my teeth, I still voted my conscious and that is what my vote is for— me to vote in the way I believe.

I did the hold my nose thing for the last time with McCain. My personal integrity will not allow me to do that again. I owe it to God and my children to stand true to my convictions.

That was a thoughtful and heartfelt post, Norm. I’ve also thought all of those same things. It just boggles my mind that any self-professed conservative could hurl some of the nasty things I’ve seen posted here about Governor Palin.

I can remember when I first began seeing the snark and nasty comments about Palin appear on Free Republic. I was honestly shocked that any Freeper would say such things. So much so, that I didn’t even know how to respond at first.

I’ve continued to be amazed at the (thankfully small) number of Freepers who irrationally condemn this rare patriot. It’s irrational condemnation, because Sarah Palin represents and promotes all of the values true conservatives and patriots supposedly hold dear.

I’ve come to the conclusion that there really is some mental/spiritual component to this behavior. I’m not talking about those who simply have issues with some things she’s said or done in her long career. I’m talking about those who attack her in a reactive fashion. Post a Palin thread, and like Pavlov’s dog, they show up to take a dump on the floor.

She just may be too good to be true for some people. They simply cannot have someone who embodies our highest ideals as much as she does. Something in their mind ‘keys’, and some dark part of their psyche reacts and takes over their higher analytical functions. I’m totally serious. A certain segment of her detractors are that unhinged.

Of course, there are others whose agenda prompts them to oppose Palin, or who are actually paid shills and operatives for her opponents. Those types are similar, but really a very different animal.

Frankly, I find this “PDS” behavior destructive to the cohesiveness of our community (even though you’ll never get a roomful of conservatives to ever agree 100% on anything). Again, I’m not talking about disagreements between reasoning people. I support anyone’s right to disagree. That is their right as an American, and I respect it completely.

Hopefully, this will all calm down at some point. When that will be is anyone’s guess. Even if Sarah Palin goes on to become the next president, those who are irrational about her very existence, will continue to be so.

You know Windflier, I’ve come to the conclusion that there are four or five so-called Freepers who have been here a long time who are in reality “plants” put here to keep a watch on us. They have kept a low profile and went along pretty much as everyone else, but there is something about Sarah that causes them to revert to their true core values (or lack thereof). There is no other way to explain why they cruise around looking for Palin threads in order to dump on her and her supporters. You won’t find a single Palin thread that they have not ruined. They seem determined to deny us of any hope for our future, because we know there will be no future without the strongest conservative we can elect. And elect her we must. The destroyers have gotten on my last nerve. It’s just about time to remove them from the premises AFAIC.

Nan, I've openly advocated that position on the forum many times, and have been charged with wanting FR to turn into a "Palin echo chamber", or of wanting to see a "Stalinist purge". Nothing could be further from the truth.

I've repeatedly said that there are marked differences between those who merely disagree with Palin, or who support some other candidate, and those who are mentally disturbed by her very presence on planet earth. It's the latter who are (in my opinion) virtually indistinguishable from left-wing moonbat, Kool-Aid swilling, Obot drones.

Skeptical of Palin? Disagree with some area of her record? Don't like some statement she's made? Fine, let's discuss it. Heck, we can even have heated arguments about it. I'm totally ok with that.

It's the rabid types who jump into every Palin thread and attempt to rip the jugular from her virtual body, that perturb me. I don't think that FR is any place for that sort of unhinged behavior.

I agree with you, and I’m looking forward to the time whe is the nominee.

It’s my estimation that then JR is going to purge us of all the moonbats you mentioned.

Especially, if the only objection to Palin you can come up with is that you don't like her accent.

Or are offended because she knows the words to some country songs.
