Sarah Palin Makes Jake Tapper Wait For Heifer Meeting To Ask Questions

During his run as interim host of ABC’s This Week with…, Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper lobbied valiantly (but unsuccessfully) to get former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to appear on the program. While covering the shenanigans in Iowa this week, Tapper seized on the opportunity to finally get Palin to answer some “substantive questions,” but before Palin would face Tapper’s queries, she had priority business to take care of: “I’m gonna go meet a heifer first.”

Tapper’s amused, bemused reaction was priceless. “A heifer first?”

After a few minutes of milking the spotlight (setting the mooed?) at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, Palin told Tapper that she still thought it was early enough in the process for new candidates to jump into the race, but that September would “practically speaking, have to be a drop dead timeline.”

She also expressed satisfaction with Thursday’s Republican debate. “They kinda took the gloves off, that was good.”

If she runs, there is no reason for Sarah Palin to appease the mainstream media, who will be out to destroy her.

She should not go on shows like “Meet the Press,” “Face the Nation,” or “Sixty Minutes.” No good can come from shows like that.

Friendly news channels are enough. Balanced news organizations, like Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, have a wide enough following to spread her message to the world of conservatives and independents.

The writer tried to make Sarah look presidential, or at least Obamaesque, by sprinkling uhs and ums liberally throughout her quotes. She said uh one time in the interview, not the dozen or so the writer injected.

I’m loving every minute of this. Only in hindsight will we realize how brilliantly Sarah has played her hand.

I tend to disagree. Though conservatives understand the bias, much of mainstream America considers those mainstream news sources. She has the backbone to take them on; appearances on those programs can, if wisely done, help Americans see the bias of the ‘drive-by media’.

I have enough faith in the American people, Palin, and (forgive my presumption) G_d, that her message will come through loud and clear to the electorate.

Of course, that assumes she has OUR support.

Where is there plenty of non-leftist media, worldwide? Where’s the “pro-conservative and proud of it” worldwide media? Where’s the “truly all neutral, truly all of the time” worldwide media? Exactly, how long has worldwide political bias existed for, anyways, and are there ways of, really, ending worldwide political bias, for always?

No, Bob. If Sarah does run, and particularly if she gets the nomination, she has to play with the big boys.

The Presidency is no pantywaist job. The President has to be ready to answer anyone, friend or foe, with honesty and intelligence. To say that she should only go to “friendly” news channels sounds as wimpy as Barry0.

Sarah needs to be tested and tried like any other candidate, and I’m confident she can handle it.

She'ss be on all the "shows", and should. She is better than they are, genuine and strong, and it shows especially well in contrast.

Though I highly doubt she interviews with Couric... ;^)

I seem to recall that all of the Democratic candidates refused to go a a Fox debate. It did not hurt them at all.

Heifer aside, Jake Tapper is one of the only MSM reporters that will ask a Democrat a tough question. He is much more professional and less partisan than any other candidate for a Sunday talking head program. It would be a major victory if he should get the ABC This Week gig.

I agree with Palin, the cow is more important and has less manure than members of the media.

All Republicans need to follow her lead and quit trying to play nice with the MSM. Their is nothing to be gained by playing by their rules.

Tapper is one of “them”. He just plays his card right. He’s always invited to Press Corps parties, and if that’s the case, in good standing with Odumbo.

If Tapper was non-MSM, he would be persona non-grata with the press corps by now.

I actually think Palin has turned the tables on the media at this point and can go into the lion’s den without too much worry. The media so thoroughly beclowned themselves with their fruitless scrutinizing of her emails and chasing her bus around and all that. The relationship shifted and they’re on the defensive now. Now if they try their gotcha stuff, she can just say “there you go again”. She can almost dismiss them with a sarcastic eye roll now, and they know it, which is going to force them to behave when they’re around her.

Katie taught her well what to expect of them. She now knows she can't be exhausted when appearing on their shows. She has also had much time to prepare since. So, I'm looking forward to her appearances on the LMSM. Look what she did to Tapper. hehehe

No...She needs to take lessons from Chris Christie. Defend your positions unapologetically to anyone.

Don't let them call a slower growth in government spending, a cut. Tell it to their face when they ask stupid questions. Our candidates need to re-establish the true middle position in politics. Without apologizing!!!

I want the Republicans to propose bulldozing the Dept. of Education. And the Dems will want to increase their budget. The new compromise position should be, Republicans will agree to give the Dept. of Education employees 30 minutes to vacate before they get Rachel Corried.

Palin should go on with Christiane Amanpour with the goal of making her faint from all the radical right wing talk.

F the press!!!!
