Just donated to perry and bought bumper sticker & yard sign (I am in)

Posted on 08/14/2011 6:43:59 PM PDT by indianrightwinger

I just committed myself 15 mins ago. My first round donation is done. Was always looking for the winnable conservative candidate with extensive executive experience. Between Romney and Perry, choice is clear. Only other possible entrant is Palin and she interested me as a reform minded GOP Governor who was a VP candidate. While she may enter the race and be more to the right of Perry, I am not looking for the "right most" candidate.

“Very possibly. Or DU trolls.”

You seem to be only concerned about protecting the status quo for the stupid party.

If the GOP only wants RINOs in their party they will get their wish, along with you. In the end YOU will lose and the conservatives will win. We will get our country back away from socialists with a (D) or an (R) after their name one way or another.

The GOP will eventually get the message of stop taking the conservative wing of the party for granted.

Electing another rino will only slow down the pace at which we are headed towards complete and total socialism.

I am certain that I and my fellow conservatives don’t want to slow the pace down we want to stop it and then reverse it.

Your clueless insults and random foolish posts are here for all to see. That you got laughed at for your comments reflects on you. BTW, I am NOT yet a Perry supporter. Just interested. Watching the lies told about him here has me more interested.

Voting Tea Party under those conditions is almost a conservative version of the Cloward-Piven strategy. Choke the machine on itself. Not that it's necessarily the wrong strategy. Letting the Democrats win everything, run rampant with their plans, and let them collapse the system on itself ASAP might be preferable to a long, slow death.

Ummm ..... Have you talked that brilliant strategy over with JimRob?

I wouldn't if I were you.

I've read several things that suggest that he has ties to Soros

I have not seen anything at all suggesting he has any ties at all to Soros. If you have, please post.

I think what you may have seen was that in 2007, Governor Perry was asked to be a keynote speaker on energy production at the Bilderberg Conference. He was asked to do so as one of the largest energy producing states in The U.S., and he accepted the opportunity to speak promoting United State energy independence, something he felt those people should hear. He did indicate he actually did listen to other speeches that were given at the conference and that he spoke with some attendees after he gave his keynote speech on energy production in the U.S., joking he basically got into an argument with some old women who wanted him to believe the world was burning up in front of our eyes, to which he did not agree.

So far as I have ever heard, Governor Perry never attended any other Bilderberg events other than giving that one keynote speech at their conference that year.

While some call that organization itself a left wing socialist secret society, this was a public conference, and the conference organizers asked if he would be a speaker, offering Governor Perry the opportunity to speak about the resources of his state and other U.S. states and providing him the opportunity to educate others about tapping into the diverse resources of those states in the name of energy independence. While he may have had more business for Texas, Alaska, Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, etc on his mind, he certainly would not have been a thug for George Soros by giving such a speech.

Clueless insults? YOU are the one who referred to me as 'clown' and 'comrade'...you want to refer to my comments as 'random foolish posts'; fine with me. But I NEVER insulted anyone. You might want to check the Scriptures re: the eternal fate of 'liars'.

Good night.

Wow. And they just continue with personal insults. This is not the FR that I knew even a week ago. Very sad and disappointing. We all had one thing in common: Conservatism. Now we are divided based on who may or may not get a nomination. Those of us who dare to question the establishment get lambasted with personal attacks. This is what liberals do, not conservatives.

I went all in for George W. Bush in 2000, and while he was not as bad as Algore, he spent eight years wanting to compromise with Democrats, and apologizing for radical Islam.

Obama is extremely vulnerable now and possibly into next year. How about we nominate a tried and true conservative and stick it to the libs and the stupid party at the same time? Perry is just not that person. He is the same thing the GOP has stuck front and center year after year after year.

The GOP with each passing year is becoming weaker and weaker on the conservative front as we nominate damned liberal/left of center/center republicans.

According to what I just read they only have to have been in TX schools for the 3 years before graduation, they don’t have to grow up attending TX public schools. I’m sorry, I don’t think that you reward people for breaking the law and this law encourages parents to bring their kids in. I don’t know why this is so difficult to understand. Dangle a reward and people will come to take it. I disagree with Perry in this, altho I understand politically why he supported it. And that is what concerns me.

You should have been here in 2000...this is nothing. And there were no moderators back then.

1 - Who?

2 - "stick it to ... the stupid party"

3 - Good way to get the "stupid party" vote, right?

What PERFECT candidate can you name? ..... narses

There is none, obviously. There is no need to compromise. That's the point dumbass. .... Mensius

In other words, narses, since we cannot guarantee a perfect candidate, we should embrace a candidate that perfectly guarantees the reelection of Barack Hussein Obama.

I’ve been a FReeper for a few years now, and I have never read such nastiness until Perry jumped into the race yesterday

Then you need to spend some time on a few economics threads. Pick one having to do with free trade...it'll make this thread look like vanilla pudding.

Stuff it, n00b, I'm just speculating. ;-) If they want to zot me, I'm not hard to find.

Joking aside, there's bigger things afoot than just this election. The last three words in Jim's tagline being one. I've been thinking about the Cloward-Piven strategy, after some other discussions around here. There's something to the thought that our system is irrevocably broken, either to misuse or intentionally. Obama being a symptom of that breakdown. Entitlements being another. Our financial system in general is becoming unsustainable and heading towards disaster.

What if there is no way to stop it?

If disaster is coming, and you have some level of influence over it, then do you use it? Pick your fight rather than be dragged into it? Is there even a way to? Cloward-Piven itself isn't anything formal. It's a long term plan, with no set phases. Is there a way to stop it, alter it, or resist it? Anyway, these are things that are fun to bounce around. The other poster mentioned his/her reasoning for wanting to vote third party, which suddenly struck me as having a weird symmetry with some related structural topics of conservative interest.

Wouldn't you agree that kicking around ideas allows for a more informed debate?

(And I happen to be a Perry fan, so no need for the sales pitch here. He's the strongest horse in the race so far.)

The GOP has been taking advantage of conservatives for years. I have had enough. They shoved McCain down our throats and they lost my wife and I in doing so. I will never give the GOP another dime until the party gets in line with what really matters and that’s conservative values and principles.
