p>The Talk Shows
August 14th, 2011
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): 2012 GOP presidential candidate and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Bachmann; Gov. Terry Branstad, R-Iowa.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Bachmann; Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Bachmann and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, both 2012 GOP presidential candidates.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Bachmann and Herman Cain, also a 2012 GOP presidential candidate; Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa
I hope Sarah goes Reaganesque and starts asking the DBM if they are better of than they were four years ago. I already saw DNC Dave’s response to that, it was priceless.
Amen, bray. I said in (liberal) bible class a couple of times that “tolerance is an overrated virtue,” and you wouldn’t believe the looks I got.
Or maybe you would. Thanks for another excellent piece.
Fox was all over how rude Gingrich was (while everyone else was cheering).
It will be interesting to see what tack Wallace takes with Bachmann today....
Plain talk with no DNC speak, rat chat, or dc spin, is never appreciated by the DBM.
I may be dreaming but in this environment where one need only ask “are you better off(even moderates and libs can understand that question) than before” I think most any of our candidates would take zero out. But, I guess we shall find out.
I think you are right about Romney. He doesn’t connect with crowds as wll as I would like, and Masscare is a hard thing to overcome when advocating repeal of Obamacare.
Perry, not so sure he is a bad choice. He has one thing going for him, and that is that he is totally PO’d at Obama.
Early days yet. We’ll see.
I agree,(about Bachmann) and it’s not just because I want Sarah Palin. I am afraid of her weaknesses and how easy it will be to exploit some aspects of her life and beliefs.
Ha! (golf balls white thing).
Obama is receiving some well-deserved criticism for his ignoring the wishes of the families of the heliocopter victims and taking a photographer .... and then publishing the picture which was one of those sickeningly fake things of him looking into the sky thinking deep thoughts and having deep feelings.
Like — why are golf balls so white???
Hi, altura! Glad I saw you before I left.
Here is what I would bet cash money on: of those 28 foster kids, there is bound to be one bad apple who will be willing to make up stories about “weird religious practices” or “verbal abuse” or something.
Money is even now probably being waved in their faces.
Gotta go!
We have far too many lawyers in Congress these days, imho.
IF one party has political power especially the dims, they generally have the ability to get what they want done either through exec. fiat or through legal gerrymandering of sorts. What is right or wrong for the country has long since been an issue, especially with the left.
Are you sick of apologies? I am. Wallace apologizes, but he’ll do the same thing the next time he thinks he can get by with it.
Yes, that was an excellent interview by Sarah, distractions and all. I couldn’t believe it when I heard that line by the CNN guy (about Obama being vetted). Apparently she couldn’t believe it either. It rated a laugh.
Did she happen to list any of those items?
I watched it.
You and I saw different interviews, though.
Gregory looked rattled and horrific. He couldn’t stop interrupting her.
He was a brutal attack dog for the gay lobby and for left wing economists and left wing businessmen. His mouth had a motor on it and he was a wild man. Was that his job, or did it just show that he can’t stand her views, thought he could run over her as a female, what?
It was the most nakedly unprofessional thing I’ve seen.
She mentioned that George Washington and other Presidents prayed, after he attacked her spirituality. He interrupted her sentence.
I think the pound should be called and he should be vaccinated for rabies.
She represented the people’s comments, the people’s concerns, the people’s sufferings. She was Tea Party to the core. He could only quote the elite who have virtually destroyed this nation.
She was right to say that her years back comments on the gay, lesbian lifestyle does not mean that she is judging them in the place of God. That is what she referenced, because her comments and observations that it was a sad lifestyle are obviously not the same as standing in judgement against them as if God, damning them to hell.
When Gregory tried and tried to get her to say that a gay couple with adopted kids was or was not a family, she repeatedly said, my position is that a marriage is between a man and a woman.
She also repeatedly said that “I’m running for President of the United States”. Showing him up for his pettiness and reminding people who still don’t know her very well, what this brohaha is all about.
I will tell you who the majority of Americans would more identify with in that face off, and it wasn’t David Gregory.
If you’ll make that Alaska/Texas I’m with you.
I think it would be a great team - not to mention one that is fun to look at.
Lots of jokes in Texas about Governor Goodhair but he has a way of winning.
There is now speculation that an 18 second video by zero claiming that his father "was in WWII" may have been a huge error on his part since it could be true.
If his father was and is Stanley Dunham and not his grandfather as suggested, who may have been in WWII, I don't know, it could have been true. It also may explain why Piglosi was able to vett him without fear.
It's as good a guess as anything out there now.
PC is totally irrelevant to the disagreement.
I saw the same interview only I totally disagree that she looked bad and Gregory good.
It was exactly the opposite.
Interesting theory, but I am still waiting to hear about the situation with the Connecticut Social Security number and the other Social Security numbers he’s supposed to have been using. There’s a LOT we don’t know about this man.
In some interview, Palin was asked if she would support Romney (I think it was Romney) and she said she would if he was the nominee. She said for her it was ABO (anybody but Obama). I feel exactly the same way, although neither I nor Palin want Romney.
This remark was, of course, jumped on by the Palin haters and the “I won’t vote if ...” crowd on FR, but it was exactly on target.
