So, although Romney is not my first, second, or fourth choice, I am not going to trash him. For all we know, Palin won’t run and Perry will flame out. I caution everyone to remember that the point of all of this is to DEFEAT OBAMA DECISIVELY.

Hear, hear.

You gotta wonder if this incredibly difficult to read proclamation is an attempt to get back what Romer obviously lost during her time at the regime. Her reputation. If she ever had one.

That was of course the right answer, but Representative Bachmann's personal narrative is going to make that line a tough sell in the general election.

Bottom line is she may not ask, but she will know. (Not saying that is a bad thing, either.)

Cain is the only candidate who actually has a serious solid plan for American recovery. Unfortunately given the way our political system has been corrupted, that is probably not enough to win the nomination

To our shame, money, not ideas, are the spendable coin of political capital in the USA these days

So sad yet probably true.

If any type of competence at any level counted we would never have had the current Candidate-in-Chief. As Rush so often reflects he is all to often the weakest link in the room.

ut Representative Bachmann's personal narrative is going to make that line a tough sell in the general election

Or maybe the voters are so fed up with the current Political Media Establishment machine and their "conventional wisdom" political dogmas that her "personal narrative" is going to be seen as a strength by voters.

Here is the problem too many "political strategists" have, they want to force every election season fit their preconceived doctrines. That would be a disastrous mistake for the GOP.

With 70-80% of the people totally fed up with the way the current political Establishment of both parties are running things, it would be suicidal to treat this election as business as normal.

Wow, I was just accused on another thread of being a Democrat plant.

Maybe you need to reconsider your posting tactics then.

Rather then trying to play the victim card like this, you might want to think about why people are reacting to your postings that way.

“Open primary states with Dems voting for Mitt?”

AL is an Open Primary state and they are beginning to talk about being a Closed Primary state but it is too late for 2012.

It may or it may not. I am not judging one way or another, it is just one of the dynamics she will have to deal with.

As a longtime Boortz listener, I’ve been a big fan of Cain’s for years, but I have to agree.

As for the rest in the poll, Newt was obviously the other big loser. For a guy who got so many applause lines in the debate, that was a pretty abysmal showing. Nothing other than sheer narcissism is keeping him in the race now.

I don’t know how to read Santorum’s 4th place finish. He’s been campaigning a lot in Iowa and he often looked like a pro among amateurs at the debate (other than his complaining about lack of face time), so he probably needed to break 10%. However, he actually did better than I expected, and it might actually show that he is slowly building support. Ultimately, I don’t think he was hurt, but I also don’t think he took any steps toward breaking out of the 2nd tier.

As for the rest, either this poll didn’t matter for them (Romney, Perry, and Palin and Giuliani if they run), or they were nonentities anyway (looking at you, Huntsman). And Ron Paul demonstrated that he may have more groupies than he had 4 years ago, but I highly doubt it will be enough to make him a factor in any actual elections.

I watched Bachmans interview with Greogry too. You are correct as it was brutal. She handled him initially but when it came down to some of her past positions, she stumbled badly.

“The RNC the Senate and House organizations who decides who is going to get support in races. Etc, etc.”

That’s the reason they dislike the Tea Party folks. They (RNC) can’t control the primaries as easily as before.
