Anger and frustration from dozens of Clayton County parents who say their children are going hungry after their food stamps were suddenly cut off.
State officials admit that something went wrong down in Clayton County at the office that administers food stamps and Medicaid but they're still not sure what.
Parents say they can't buy food without those food stamps.

I hate these people. I really do, I think they are a waste of air. I would not venture to say aloud what would happen to them if I were all-powerful.
That's me. I have no car, no tv, use my landlady's internet and a little laptop from my school (I'm a teacher) and that is IT. My cellphone is an old-school snap-shut model from several years ago. But a huge chunk of my pay disappears every month into the tax hole to keep people like this living more comfortably than I am. (I live in Los Angeles.) My rent is exhorbitant because, being a woman alone, I choose to live as far from the recipients of these programs as possible, for my own safety, and ... well it just doesn't seem quite right to me. And yes, I resent it more every year.
You said that, not me. I said I wouldn’t discuss it. Perhaps I should suggest that if you ever have a desperate situation develop overnight in your life you should immediately place your children into adoption and either shoot or dump your pets on someone else.
As Mother always said, “to assume makes an ASS-out of U and ME both.”
If I'm paying for some else's lifestyle toots, You can damn well bet that if I had the choice, they would not be allowed a penny of my money until they had gotten rid of their pets, cell phones, cable TV, kids' soccer lessons, etc.
You really ought to quit. Every time you post you confirm my ASSumtions. The primary one of which is I don't trust your judgement as to what constitutes genuine need.
And as far as your silly little aphorism, you can't get through a day witout making assumptions When you go though a green lght, you assume that the traffic in the other direction is going to stop. Think about it.
Further a desperate situation rarely develops overnight for anyone who is living within their means rather than financing lifetyle with debt. The fiscally responsible have savings to cushion unexpected medical bills, etc. They don't rely on robbing their fellow citizens' earnings.
You remind me of the FR space cadets. They think they're conservative, but they're only conservative on government spending that they disapprove of. If it's for the space program, then spending other peoples' money is OK. In your case supporting someone you know with money that was earned by hardworking fiscally responsible people is OK.
I never said it was okay with me that they be supported by the government. But since the choice wasn’t mine, I was happy to see at least a couple of people who really needed it get it.
I’m done with this conversation. Not giving up, just tired of dealing with you. I have more enjoyable ways of spending my Sunday.
Time to evaluate your position on the CW2 Cube. Now is the time to move away from dangerous corners. Far away.
Maybe you could skip the cell phone and buy a few packs of hot dogs?
Good advice. We are finalizing the retreat search right now. Heading for the side of the cube with no cultural diversity.
Amen.
I don’t know about that. According to the FBI, stocking up on items could be a sign of terrorist intent!!
God bless you for your inner strength and sense of responsibility....I'll say a prayer that it is rewarded in ways you cannot imagine.
Aw, that would be lovely. Thanks...
“Whut chu gonna do fo me? Me and my kids ain’t gonna sit here and wait. I wanna know when I gets my check.”
America—home of the free, the brave, and the generationally dependent who suck off the free and the brave.
Depending on the type of phone and service, that may or may not be a good example. Tracfones can be as low as $14.99 cost and $5/month for service.
Old thread, sorry.
