Ron Paul or certified RINOs, whom would you prefer? (vanity)

Posted on 08/13/2011 1:26:27 PM PDT by JimWayne

After yesterday's spurt in talk radio about Ron Paul, I've been thinking about his positions. I oppose Ron Paul on Foreign Policy (especially his position ignoring the threat of Islam taking over our policy), but have to seriously wonder about supporting some of the other candidates who have not faced opposition.

Ron Paul gets a lot of flak, but why do the others get away with cheating us for doing far worse than what Ron Paul promises to do to Israel? Many candidates like Rick Santorum, George Allen and Joe Barton have hijacked the label of conservative, but are less conservative than even Ron Paul. They support raising debt to infinite levels, deficit funding, support for Islamic regimes like Pakistan, nationalized healthcare (they did not oppose Romneycare), have wishy-washy positions on abortion, and say one thing during the elections while ganging up with the liberals right after the elections.

The second thought in my mind is about Israel. Why are we so obsessed about Israel when the Jewish people seem to vote for the RATs? I think Islam is more dangerous and if we pull the aid from both Palestine and Israel, Israel will win, but this is a situation I don't really feel strongly about. There are much bigger problems at home and my wealth is depleting not merely due to Obama and other Dims, but the RINOs and neocons who have ganged up with the liberals over the years.

These RINOs do not support us but expect our support unconditionally. They even opposed the TEA Party candidates but suddenly claim that they themselves are part of the TEA Party.

So my question to you is why should we give a free pass to the RINOs? Shouldn't we hold them to the same standards we hold Ron Paul to? I can already hear that Ron Paul is a kook, but that is not the question. The question is whether others like Santorum and George Allen aren't worse than being a kook and why should we support them? The other question is why Israel is so important that my savings should be used for them. Shouldn't they take care of themselves?

“Why are we so obsessed about Israel when the Jewish people seem to vote for the RATs?”

I bet you spend more time than you like to wondering why people think that you are anti-semitic, huh?

Your boy Ron took cash and endorsements from them?

Show me one post where I supported Ron Paul. I pointed out that others get a free ride and we need to hold them up to the same standard to which we hold Ron Paul. If we did this, we won't have Obama supporters in the GOP.

Palio Fraudie is a certified RINO, at that, he is more to the left than most of the others. His voting record is that of a moderate libertarian (see ontheissues.org charts below). The American Conservative Union has his score only one point of McCain's.

Ron Paul's voting record:

Compared to, for example, Bachmann's:

Or even Perry, who everyone calls at least moderate RINO.

This thread is not about Ron Paul but about others who do worse things and seem to get away with it.

Who else accepts campaign contributions from Neo-Nazi groups?

“Santorum hates homeschooling”

Far be it for me to call someone a damned liar but I’d REALLY like to see you back up THAT pile of crap.

It is a load of crap. Santorum himself homeschooled his kids.

The Home School Legal Defense Association praised Santorum.

Also, it seems Santorum is a regular at homeschool conferences.

So I guess Santorum authoring "No Child Left Behind" and constant saying how homeschooling is inadequate doesn't register with you?

Santorum doesn't want parents and local communities making decisions about their children's educations.

He wants a federally mandated education standard. That's fine, but it's not conservative.

The least you can do is check your facts before trashing somebody.

Santorum supported Arlen Specter. He claimed Mitt Romney is a conservative. He triangulated his position on abortion. He helped unions by taking Amtrak pork. He voted for community block development programs. He supported programs to fight the alleged Global Warming. He took cheap shots at Michele Bachmann. So why should I cut him any slack? Since Rick Santorum is a fraud who has been cheating us, it is safe to assume that he supports homosexualizing the military and if we cannot find any evidence, it is only because he hides it successfully. In 2008, he also claimed that America needs to embrace progressives and diversity. Diversity is nothing but a code word for homosexuals.

I always knew Santorum was strong on homeschooling, I also took his line on the 10th amendment as what it was, the tenth gives NO states the right to do things that will drasticallly change society as a whole. Slavery, gay marriage or whatever.

Rick might not win the nomination but he has won my respect, moreso than he already had.

That is like an abortionist attending a Right to Life conference.

Sanotrum authored the bill that would become "No Child Left Behind"

Santorum is for taking away choice from the family and community and giving it the federal government.

You pretty much hit it. Candidates like Paul think the ‘state’ part of the 10th amendment is the end-all-be-all of the issue ignoring the ‘or to the people’ and the fact that individual rights trump state’s rights. A State doesn’t have a blank check if it infringes on an individual’s rights.

I’m saying that any R is better than Obama and threads like this only spread discord.
