WASHINGTON, August 12, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The California legislature is now pushing through a bill to remove parental notification for children as young as 12 to receive the dangerous STD vaccine Gardasil.
The American Life League reports that each treatment of the HPV vaccine Gardasil, has an average cost of over $360, a sum that would be footed by taxpayers.
Gardasil, the most popular HPV vaccine, has been found to cause dangerous side effects and as many as twelve deaths in the United States alone.
The state had attempted but failed in 2007 to mandate HPV vaccinations for all girls entering junior high.
Dr. Diane Harper, a former lead researcher for the controversial vaccine, told CBS in 2009 that serious side effects could prove riskier than the HPV the drug purports to prevent, and that young girls and their parents should receive more complete warnings before receiving the vaccine.
The known medical risks and controversy demonstrate the true nature of this legislation: Sexual zealots in Californian politics believe that 12-year-old boys and girls are sexual animals that have no need or ability to control their own behavior, said Paul E. Rondeau, director of communications for American Life League.
The premise is that children will and should have sex regardless of what parents believe is best for their own sons and daughters.
Hearings on AB499 are expected starting on August 15. If passed, California governor Jerry Brown is widely expected to sign the measure.
Sexual politics is not about the health of children and families: Sexual revolutionaries grow their careers, manufacturers of so-called sexual preventions and cures like Merck grow their market, and distributors like Planned Parenthood grow their profits, said Rondeau.
American Life League is sending an Action Alert to all its constituents in California, and urging its 115 national Associates to support the defeat of AB499.
The other question is whether parents and the child can sue the California Govt and individual members of the legislature who voted for the mandatory vaccination bill, if the child is harmed or killed.
I would hope that some legislator would enter an amendment to that bill that would make the governor, head of the dept. of health, and each member of the legislature who voted for the mandatory vaccination, WAIVE their governmental/legislative IMMUNITY, and be open to lawsuits for any harm done to the children.
It wouldn’t pass, but what an eyeopener bill it would be and a great campaign tool against those who voted for the vaccinations.
“You voted for a dangerous bill and crippled/killed my child.”
At $360 bucks a pop (OF TAXPAYERS MONEY), I'm surprised they don't want it mandated
for every living breathing human on the planet, of all ages.
don’t give them ideas. :p
I also opposed the EO, because the opt out provisions were onerous and could have put parents into a database that would enable CPS to harass parents.
This bill side-steps parents entirely by obtaining consent directly from 12 yo kids with no notice, to authorization, no parental protection at all.
How dare any one decide what vaccines my child will get? I am so glad I home school. My daughter is not getting this until I know more & she can decide herself, when she is 18 yrs old.
This is the point where you shoot the bass turds. No hyperbole. Glad I don’t have kids because I would blow the head right off any bureaucratic a-hole that did something like this.
I don’t see how they’re going to sneak that through without the parents catching it if the parents are vigilant with their kids at the doctors, EXCEPT by using the public school system.
A very astute observation.
Sad but all too true.

Got that right. . . .
‘VERY glad I have no grandchildren.’
We have many, and this IS very scary, indeed.
And ridiculous and disgusting.
The senate appropriations hearing is Monday. Today is Saturday.
Sure sounds like it!
ANYONE who puts a government mandate before personal freedom and individual rights is NOT a conservative- let alone the knee jerk nanny state reaction that the government knows what's best for YOUR child.
Exactly. The government knows what’s best for you and your children, after all.
Incorrect. The opt-out was in the executive order and made it easier for parents to opt-out of all vaccines:

The Governors Executive Order (RP 65) that caused all the controversy also ordered the director of DSHS to make it easier for parents to opt out of vaccines. The Legislature had changed the law from opt in to a requirement to opt out once for all the school years. Next, they changed to a two year limit on the opt out, and then in 2005, the Legislature restricted the period to one year and required a new State form bearing a seal. Parents had to go to Austin or start early in the summer. There were bureaucrats who maintained that the only way to get the form with the seal was to go to Austin, find the right office and make the request in person. Perry used his EO to tell the Director of DSHS to make the request (and the seal) available on-line, making it easier to opt out.
Stop lying about Perry, who might just be the best Republican candidate to come along since Reagan.
My God, you are delusional. Stop lying to yourself.
