After a nearly three-year investigation, DCF officials release comprehensive review of Caylee's death.
*snip*
But all of the Anthonys, and her defense attorney Jose Baez, gave DCF the cold shoulder for nearly eight months when investigators wanted to question them after Caylee's remains were found in a swampy area near the child's eastOrange County home, the 12-page report shows.
And while the report doesn't carry much if any legal weight, it is the first document that places responsibility for Caylee's death squarely on her mother, Casey Anthony.
"It is the conclusion of the Department of Children and Families that [Casey Anthony] failed to protect her child from harm either through her actions or lack of actions, which tragically resulted in the child's untimely death," DCF spokeswoman Carrie Hoeppner said Thursday.

But three years to come to this obvious conclusion? Unbelievable. And ANYone who materially obstructed the case should be flat out criminally charged.
God rest her soul. She would've now been six this week.
This report should have been ready for the trial. It might have made a difference in justice being served.
At least someone has figured out that a little girl is dead. It’s not much but it’s better than nothing I guess.
Then the list is bogus.
While I agree with your general premise, DCF is not technically a law enforcement agency, and they can not compel testimony and individuals are under no obligation to cooperate with them or even participate in their investigation. The only thing this report could possibly be used for is to go after Casey if in the future she had another child and their was a report of abuse or neglect with it, then this report could be used to show a pattern of abuse and neglect making easier for action to be taken. But, that's really about it.
This agency did NOT find her guilty of murder. Guilty of failure to protect would have been an approprate charge (or something similar) by the state of Florida and she would have been been found guilty.
Charging her with capital murder did not fit and even this agency couldn’t make that connection.
And the body moved from a known ‘accidental drowning’ in the above ground pool to the swamp - how? I do not recall seeing or hearing about that at all.
Complete failure on the part of the prosecution to not offer a count of Child Neglect in the indictment. As this DCF report shows, a conviction would be a no-brainer (even for that jury). Instead they only included top counts for each category (e.g Aggravated Child Abuse), angling for a death penalty and not giving the jury a chance to “downgrade” to a lesser charge.
Casey Anthony: Casey Anthony must serve one year probation - She is ordered to report to probation office no later than Aug. 26. Judge Belvin Perry says to avoid probation would make sentence a ‘mockery of justice.’
Good. Will she fly back in a Lear jet, partying all the way too? One sick, spoiled rotten, selfish puppy.
For now. . . . . Her day of reckoning in coming, when she least expects it. . . . . . . Just ask OJ.
It is obvious to me that EVERYONE with a brain knows that Casey is responsible for little Caylee’s death.
The jury members knew too. Think of their verdict this way: They knew she was guilty, but if they found her guilty the media wouldn't give a rap about having any interviews with them. BUT, if they found Casey innocent, why the media would be begging them for interviews to “get into their brains” and find out HOW they could find Casey innocent!
I had heard, but do not know if true, that one juror had hired a publicist before the trial started. Needless to say what was on that juror's mind!
THe O.J. parallel would be to go after Casey in civil court. But there appears to be no equivalent to the Goldman family.
Little late for that.
To compound their stupidity.....the jury decided she was a "good mother."
Polls say Casey Anthony is now the most hated person in America......
Anthong was fairly acquited of the most serious crimes, and that is the way it is....its a little too late now to be declaring she wasn't a good mother....
that whole family let that little girl down....
I can see the jury's following their duty "beyond a reasonable doubt"...
this was a gamble by the prosecution and they lost....they should have charged with some sort of negligent death, etc...that would have been easy to prove.....
