I saw a young lean young man in my clinic today. He came in for follow up after being seen in the ER yesterday with a dislocated shoulder. He wanted a note to go back to work. No pain meds no time off he wanted to work. I asked him what happened. He got into a fight. He said he sent to hit the guy and missed and dislocated his shoulder. But, he said he connected with the first 2 punches. I asked he if he got in trouble. He said “Yeah, but it was worth it”. I asked him what he meant. He said the other guy was 20 years old and messing around with his 14 year of sister. I asked him what he did to his sister. He grinned and said that was his Father’s problem. I thought he is not like the naked English guy I saw in that picture.
LOL. Sweet!
That might be because the only people living in the violent areas are immigrants.
It was only when we decided everyone was equal that things started to go downhill.
I think the male gene pool in Britain has effeminated. (prob. not a word, but I don’t care) There is a reason our ancestors left.
It was only when we decided everyone was equal that things started to go downhill.
********************
Actually it all started to go downhill when you imported German rustics as your superiors, and enlisted your colonies to fight your wars.
Sort of like Rome being governed by Syrians and defended by Teutons. Thus Rome became Italy, in time. There is hope in that, should England ever acquire cuisine and a sense of style.
Carry on.
Not deemed self defense? Well, if you’re happy with the result of Mr. Martin’s case, and feel that it was blown out of proportion, and that is the majority opinion in GB, then you can see how it doesn’t play well here among the savages with a frontier mentality.
I wonder if the virtual ban on firearms can embolden hooligans. Perhaps because of this growing perception, in America we seem to be going the other direction. More and more states are passing laws to permit citizens arms for self-defence.
After all, God made men—but Samuel Colt made them equal.
I read somewhere that in parts of GB, (notably Scotland?) that some folks have taken to wearing swords again. Is that true?
I suppose if you feel a need for an equalizer and more modern weaponry isn’t available, a sword as a personal defence weapon is preferable to nothing.
It might be. I'm not sure what the population density of immigrants is in any of these areas. But I have yet to see stories of a home-grown Brit man (who wasn't a cop) standing out there to defend lives and property. There were numerous riots across the country in the last week. Something tells me that had we the ability to “peek” behind the doors of those brown-stone homes we would have seen many Brit “males” huddled in their closets, crouched over a puddle of piss.
1—No I am many British were not happy with the Tony Martin verdict. We knew he was legally guilty given the perameters of the law, but there was and is great sympathy for him. Even the appeal judges halved his sentence, even if they couldnt legally overturn it.
2—Martin shot a man in the back who was running away. That meant the law couldnt include it as legitimate self defence.
3-No, Scots arent wearing swords.
Well, that’s unproveable supposition. The majority of the rioting occured in city Centres - commercial zones - and they are pretty much uninhabited after daylight.
The house of Hanover, which was descended from the ancient royal line of England anyway, is hardly rustic. But even if that is so, why is being "rustic" (whatever that means) an insult? Do you think country dwellers don't match up to the heady intellectual superiority of city dwellers? I'm sure all of your countrymen from deepest Arkansas and the wilds of Colorado deeply appreciate that sentiment. It never ceases to amaze me how incredibly snobbish many Americans can be, given that they all take it as read that all men are made equal.
... and enlisted your colonies to fight your wars.
Recruiting colonies? What are you talking about? Colonies were part and parcel of the Empire and their inhabitants were as much British as someone from Kent or Kirkcuddy. Most wars were fought over and for colonies anyway.
Sort of like Rome being governed by Syrians and defended by Teutons. Thus Rome became Italy, in time. There is hope in that, should England ever acquire cuisine and a sense of style.
How incredibly boorish, pandering to every two bit stereotype.
Carry on.
You forgot to get in the meme about dentistry...
It's called Liberalism.
“You forgot to get in the meme about dentistry...”
That has no relevance when the subject is toothless.
Yes...and if you read the stories about the “perps” that have been in the news for the last couple days you find a list of Brit citizens, many of whom are upper middle class and/or white.
I just googled about knife and sword crimes in Scotland and came up with some amazing stuff, probably what I had seen on the internet before.
Here is a government publication about a new law:
http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2005/06/27110147/01543
Apparently the government has proposed a law to further regulate knives and swords because they are involved in half of the murders in Scotland each year and the murder rate is fourth in the EU.
Here is an excerpt of the Minister of Justice’s remarks.
5.” Similarly, while many might think that swords are part of a by-gone age, their threat remains very real in Scotland today. Advice from the police suggests that the concealability, portability and availability of samurai swords in particular, make them the weapon of choice for growing numbers of young men with criminal intentions. That view is supported by the increasing number of well reported court cases involving samurai and ornamental swords.”
Wow, weapons of choice for growing numbers of young men. You guys are tough.
LOL...ok...touche
In it for “kicks” I suppose. Pitiful. Still, if they are not taught it is wrong, and/or not punished when they do it, then expect more of the same.
