George Lopez wasn't afraid to talk about show getting canceled on "Lopez Tonight" yesterday -- but he told the crowd that he was being fired because of the color of his skin.
Lopez -- whose voice was featured in the "Smurfs" movie -- was talking about how Sony has greenlit a "Smurfs" sequel during his monologue ... and quipped, "So today I lost some work because I'm brown, but I got some work because I'm blue!"
Is Lopez REALLY blaming race ... or was he just trying to crack a bad joke?

actually, he was hired because he was brown. He was fired because his ratings were not good, and they can make more ad money with a different program in that slot.

Then, being mean as well as racist, they always let them know they are being fired because of race or skin color. That's just to rub it in.
They have fun doing it and fighting off the lawsuits over racism gives their lazy legal departments something to do.
George Lopez’s comedy, as I remember it, was more in line with Gilbert Esquivel’s. Gilbert is a born again Christian, with a clean routine now. His act focuses on the East LA Mexican social culture, etc. Self-deprecating, etc. - (Ha, Ha, Is there any other kind of comedian?) - Anyway, Esquivel IS funny. Saw him on Thou Shalt Laugh, with Patricia Heaton hosting. Michael Jr. was also on. Excellent show.
The only talent this guy has is the ability to spit while talking. We call him “racist Whor-hay” around my house.

Lopez was fired because in the last month, all of his viewers who vote independent stopped watching him.
