NEW YORK—American consumers can expect bigger grocery bills in 2012, even as commodity prices are forecast to fall.

In a recent report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said grocery-store prices will likely rise 3% to 4% in 2012, on par with this year, even though ingredient costs may fall.

The biggest increases would likely be in the first half of next year, but prices would most likely ease later in 2012, said USDA economist Richard Volpe.

That's after we're done paying for the freeloaders rent, utilities, clothing, their food, education, cell phones, computers, Internet access, air conditioners, cable, microwaves, and health care (and now Bernie Sanders of Vermont wants the tax slaves to pay for a freeloaders dental plan). The support costs for these moochers is skyrocketing.

We have to support the freeloaders BEFORE we get our paychecks. It's removed from our checks before we even see them. We support their psudoe-families FIRST. We get to keep what little is left over to take care of our own families last.
They get the steak, we get the canned spam. Even worse, they're still demanding the slaves give them more, because they don't have enough!

Every now and then I used to have one of my kids pick up bread on their way home from classes. My daughter is now out of college and working her first job, so my son has been the one doing the bread stops, because he has more time. About two days ago, I asked my daughter to pick up a loaf of bread on her way home, and she was shocked at the price. She thought the store was "ripping her off."
No. That's the real cost of bread now that Oboma is president. ("A measure of wheat for a penny" - an entire days wages)

Be sure to buy a vintage Gillette that opens like a butterfly (not the 3-piece!), because many of the new ones do not provide a close shave. You will be surprised at how good of a shave you can get.

EBay has a number of them for less than $20 that are in good shape. Mostly, look for a good finish on the metal.

As far as blades goes, this too is a “get what you pay for” deal.
I use these blades and normally buy them form my barber for $10/100. For $200 you can have many more shaves that these new, disposable stuff.
They remain sharp for a long time.

Also, I've found that though a gel soap doesn't tend to give as good of a lather it is easier on my skin. If you want a “mug” shaving soap, I’ve found the Colgate brand to be the best so far. it will last me over 6 months!

So, typical razor for $15 to buy initially, with what, three replacement blades included, add three ten-paks of blades for it at $17 each, then a can of shave cream, I'm going to guess at $4 (just a guess) totals $53
That shaves you for what, 8 weeks?

As opposed to buying a vintage Gillette double edge razor for ~$20, plus a $10 pack of 100 blades, plus soap $3, plus a brush for ~$20 for a reasonable quality on (go to local barbers). Total $53, but that shaves you for AT LEAST 6 months.

Then, the blades are CHEAP and the soap is too.

Those razors will last you for the rest of your life.

And, this is the best part, on the winter mornings there no better way to shave than with a hot lather!

I’m glad that going without a shave is an option for me now. I’m considering learning to use a straight razor though.

Someone once mentioned that the way to prctice is to blow up a balloon, lather it up and shave the balloon without poppoing it.

I have about 12 razors in my stockpile. All free from couponing. Good ones too. Gillete, Schick, etc.....even have some packs of blades too... too bad meat doesn’t go on sale like razors.

I had never heard that.

In the early 1970's there was a corn shortage caused by a fungus-leaf blight. No corn = no beef. Kinda like is happening with the drought = no hay= less beef/more expensive beef. Farmers can't keep their herds. Some places, hay has gone from forty bucks a bale to 100 or more. I remember eating lots of venison, and also horsemeat when beef was so high.
