I’ve noticed some of this in commercials lately.
The kid in the SUV who is “cool” watching a DVD while another kid is “trapped” in a sedan with uncool parents singing some lame old song. Using kids to sell what’s cool.
There’s another one lately, a 10-12 year old kid trying to sell us on geo-thermal.
My take is that the average American is an idiot and will listen to their kids in an effort to stay current. And that’s pathetic.

Why can't we have some commercials using children as well. There are many smart kids out there.
Someone can come up with a script. Maybe a debate type thing. Rich kids vs. poor kids, the poor keep asking for more and more until the Rich kids have nothing left to give them, THEN WHAT?
There could be many more scripts to be written that children will understand.
Have the kids tell about all the money that has been sent to foreign aid, then show how today those countries are still in the same mess. Where did the money go?, then show the lavish rulers, such as our own.
Two can play this game. It started with the Daisy Ad of LBJ, that sorry S.O.B.

If they don’t kill them in the womb they’ll use them to advance their political agenda.
There is a TV ad running in the Reno market that shows an obviously Hispanic kid and the whole theme is to get kids to go to college.
The entire ad shows him doing a large GRAFFITTI MURAL on a brick building he obviously doesn’t own.
Then the end of the commercial sidcusses his going to college to ‘continue his ART’.
The ad is paid for by the Federal government.
It just plain pisses me off—from a dozen different angles.

It’s called “Adult Spousal Status” and is a plague in middle class white families of divorce.
1. Mom gets custody
2. Mom gets lots of child support
3. Mom trashes dad
4. Mom treats children as her equals and dad’s superiors
5. Dad competes with his own wallet during his “visitation” trying to “undo” trash talk about him by mom
6. Dad starts parenting by “guilt” as a knee jerk response to Mom’s brainwashing
7. The spoiling, enabling, entitlement continues and children play both parents against each other for all it’s worth; children are not dispciplined, put on ADHD meds, not taught basic social skills, hygiene, etc.
8. Children are consulted about what house to buy, where to eat, when to eat, what mate should their divorced parents seek; yet are not responsible for basic chores/manners; lowered expectations at school follow
9. Children are free ranged and allowed to do what they want, when they want, where they want with little to no consequences.
Of course the government enters into this by equating all discipline with abuse.
