Water cannons would be a welcome relief to many of those stuck this summer in the 100 plus temperature in our nations mid section.
Honestly, they say they will do “all that is necessary” to stop the violence. I don’t think they are even are coming close to doing what is necessary. Water cannons and what they call their “last resort” rubber bullets, will be like shooting a supersoaker at a hornets nest. You’re just going to make them more angry and violent. This soft approach got them to where they are today. I can understand their argument for not using the military on their own citizens, but the police need to be breaking up the mobs with tear gas, and announce on loud speakers that looters and arsonist will be shot on sight – and then show them that it is not just talk.
