Wearing a linen trouser suit, neon-green Nike trainers and a CNN lapel-mic, Jill Biden sat in the shade of an acacia tree and listened solemnly to Fatuma Adem's story.
Watching the wife of the US vice-president touring the world's biggest refugee camp for famine-hit Somalis was a scrum of television cameramen, international reporters and Washington staffers thumbing their BlackBerrys.
A circle of secret-service agents, their oversized shirts flattened by the hot wind onto the outlines of bullet-proof vests and pistols beneath, fanned out, watching 'the perimeter'.
Parked off to the side, waiting to whisk the visitors back to the airport, was a convoy of 29 polished vehicles, including armoured US embassy Land Cruisers driven the eight hours up from Nairobi the day before.
This is what it looks like when the biggest VIP circus so far comes for a two-and-a-half-hour visit to Dadaab.

Why is it that the US has to help these Somalians? Where are the super-rich Arab countries like Saudi and the Emirates when it comes to helping their fellow Muslims?
Spending their money on building tall and useless towers in order to stroke their egos.
Did they bring food and medicine for the starving and ailing?
How about taking out the Muslim government first, to make sure the food aid goes to the people and not to the soldiers?

The motorcade raises consciousness, awareness, and shows these poor people that while they are suffering there are those who are able to raise awareness, through motorcades and elaborate charity balls, of their situation to a world full of rich millionaires and billionaires who ride comfortably in their corporate jets.

maybe John Couger Mellonhead , Neil Young and Willie Nelson can have a Farm Aid concert for Somalia .Matt Damon can MC and Angelina Jolie can adopt all their kids. Bono can give them tax advice.
