From a moral standpoint, it couldn’t be worse.
Not a word from the scumbag and chef. Too bad it wasn’t 32.
There go all the witnesses. Bet there’s plenty of shredding going down,.
huma - one of the (many) moles at state.
AF is having drinking water problems.
Reports are that 31 died, they were only SEALs?
'"The operators from SEAL Team Six were flown by a crew of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.
One source says the team was thought to include 22 SEALs, three Air Force air controllers, seven Afghan Army troops, a dog and his handler, and a civilian interpreter, plus the helicopter crew."'
Can we just turn Afghanistan into an EMPTY poppy field?
RIP, all who died in this attack. I can almost hear the wailing of all the brokenhearted SEAL families a hundred miles south of me. I cry for you today.
This is awful. What are the odds?
The only remotely plausible explanation that would give any credit to BHO would be if this were a cover up to essentially put the warriors into a “witness protection program” of sorts to protect their identities. Given his innate disgust with the US military, however, it certainly is difficult to give the Keynan-In-Chief the benefit of the doubt.
More likely, there might have been sensitive details to the operation that ObaMao wanted to keep a lid on for whatever reason. Very reminiscent of Ron Brown’s “accident” during the Clinton years.
Or the whole thing was rank incompetence, allowing our best, most effective counterterrorist unit get on a chopper with non-US military personnel. Were all of the people on that chopper vetted by the CIA? Probably not. Easy pickings for a reprisal attack.
This, along with the premature disposal of UBL’s corpse make this whole affair reek to the high heaven. If there is anything worthy of an elaborate, expensive, and thorough Congressional investigation, this is it.
Or about twenty minutes with the Keynan and a waterboard might do the trick.
As they say in law enforcement....there is no such thing as coincidence.
This was a set up, I’d bet my house on that and no it is not encumbered with a mortgage....
HQ? How about the White House, since Obama was so intent on meeting these heroes. Remember that whole thing? They actually wanted to photograph them. I never heard whether they did or not.
Ditto!
We are surrounded with traitors.
This makes me sick beyond belief. THIS IS YOUR FAULT KENYAN! Their blood is on your hands you fool.
I am just sick to my stomach right now....
“A series of Taliban assassinations has spread panic in Afghanistans ruling elite, increasing ethnic tensions and jeopardising the imminent transition from US and Nato forces to Afghan forces. As the military situation deteriorates, the dialogue process with the Taliban must be sped up. But for this to happen America must also suspend its own lethal night raids against Taliban targets.
Since March, seven top Afghans have been assassinated, including three in the critical southern province of Kandahar. They included Ahmed Wali Karzai, President Hamid Karzais brother and Ghulam Haider Hamidi, the mayor of Kabul, considered to be one of the most honest officials in Afghanistan who were both killed in July....
This is where the night raids matter. The Pentagon, which has been at odds with President Barack Obama over the troop withdrawal, is not fully supportive of the current round of talks. It also considers night raids, carried out by special forces such as the elite Navy Seals, to be one of its major weapons to degrade the Taliban. Yet while the raids have killed numerous commanders, they also generate enormous fear among the wider population. There are strident demands by Mr Karzai to stop them. The Pentagon is not listening.

It's worth reading the whole thing for the background, even if you disagree with the author's conclusions.
Seal Team 6 doesn’t even OFFICIALLY exist, AFAIK.
THIS time someone needs to PAY...all the way to the top.
Rips your guts right out.
so, the “news media” is reporting the truth? pretty novel
I am positively sick at this news. Could it have been a lucky shot at an incoming chopper? Yes, the chances are there.
But after the Bin Laden raid, and Robert Gates’ words about not being able to keep these men out of the press for more than 24 hours, someone(s) in that room should be held accountable.
Top picks..Brennan, Biden and Jarret.
I am sick to death at this..and can only pray for these men and their families, and work to make sure those responsible for leaks are hunted down. They are despicable and now have the blood of our finest on their hands. Damn them.
After reading the FT article, it’s pretty clear that plans for this raid were leaked by someone in the Afghan military who was privy to them, to their friends in the Taliban.
This was a classic betrayal and ambush, and intended to send a message.
I thought that odd for so many of them traveling together.
