CLEVELAND -- Cleveland's mayor has vetoed a measure that would have made it a crime to use social media to organize a flash mob.
City council members who introduced the measure say teens have used Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites to pull together flash mobs that are really only large gatherings of trouble makers, instead of the usual large crowds breaking into dance.
[snip]
[Mayor Frank] Jackson told council members that the ordinance passed by them was a concern because it could interfere with the rights of the city's law-abiding citizens.

“How do such stupid people get elected into positions of authority?”
Trying to figure THAT out since Nov. 2008;)
More good news from the crime blackhole/cesspool that is known as Cleveland.
No matter how you try to slice it, to attempt to ban all flash mobs, even non-violent ones, would be a violation of the 1st Amendment’s guarantee of the right to peaceably assemble.
It drives my blood pressure up to argue with members of the “silent majority” who proudly state they are “above politics” .
These same people avoid jury duty, because only idiots can't get out of it, in their twisted opinion.
These same people wonder why we have idiots in DC, Obama as POTUS, and no working system of justice.
But hey...they get to brag about how smart they were to get out of jury duty, and why nothing our government does is in any way ever their own fault.
Talk about an ignorant victim mentality!
I used to shop in downtown Cleveland, ostensibly to help the economy ... spend locally and all that. However, since Obo got into office, I wouldn’t go downtown if my very life depended on it. Now, anything white is the enemy. After all a black president is in charge and therefore blacks are in charge of all they survey.
These idiots don’t realize that he is limit in his reign as President. The next president might be white or a black with a sense of responsibility for the American people as a whole.
An invitation to flash-mobbers to take to the streets? Sheesh!
Cleveland, Milwaukee, LA, Philly etc. etc. it is clear if your white stay out. You don’t have any friends there, not the police, not the mayor, not the city council, the Justice Department or the Presidency, you are not their people....you are the problem
oops tag line fail let’s try again

Exactly. They want the white money (you know, go there for the ‘cosmopolitan atmosphere’ and all that jazz) yet they’re not willing to lift a finger to make it even somewhat safe.
Well, sorry, but if someone insists on having their show in a ‘downtown’ theater, they can kiss my beutress (as they say at the UN), I AIN’T going there.
Just rename Cleveland “Holderville” and be done with it.
They could likely find most of those trouble makers by using a list of people receiving "free" phones.
After this, If you stay in or visit Cleveland, you deserve what you get.
Burn on, big river, burn on...
they'll learn.....
remember the mobs went to the King of Prussia mall and caused havoc....
To be quite frank, I do. We go to the Indians games, concerts and restaurants. We also frequent the many museums in Cleveland. I honestly don’t see many of the majority “black” that you are referring too. I know they are around, but I don’t feel unsafe.
Recently, I have felt slightly uneasy at large gatherings (for example. football stadium concerts) and have adjusted our entertainment accordingly.
