AUSTIN, Tex. In April, as Texas reeled from wildfires and a drought, Gov. Rick Perry sought assistance from the federal government, but also from a higher power. He asked the state to pray for rain, issuing an official proclamation that I, Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Texas, do hereby proclaim the three-day period from Friday, April 22, 2011, to Sunday, April 24, 2011, as Days of Prayer for Rain in the State of Texas.

Yeah, meanwhile we all drink the Obama kool aid... hypocrites.
In whose minds is this question raised “anew”? I wish these people would all euthanize themselves without further ado.
So, Obama is hosting a freaking “Ramadan Celebration” and they worry about Rick Perry at a prayer rally?
This nation is nuts.
F the NY Times.
This nation is nuts.’
Worthy of repeating.....Nothing surprises me anymore. With the economy in as bad of shape as it is now, I'm sure there are many American families out there turning to prayer themselves so this will all be forgotten after this weekend. Plus, with the downgrade, they will be too busy spinning that to spend much time on this.
Angry envangelical atheists
June saw temps drop and heavy soaking rains doused the wildfires across Texas. I will be driving to the Response from Dallas tomorrow morning. I will be expecting rainfall in the coming weeks. Perhaps a nice tropical storm sitting right over Texas. Perry wouldn't look so foolish then would he.
A bunch of devout communists and their devout athiest tools calling Rick Perry an extremist....it just doesn’t get more hilarious than that. It’s priceless, in fact. :)
>>So, Obama is hosting a freaking Ramadan Celebration and they worry about Rick Perry at a prayer rally?
Obama’s moon god has no power, but a stadium full of Christians calling on Jesus scares liberals to death.
Why no questions about Obama’s “faith” NYT?
Hmmmmm ?
And in one way or another, our omnipotent God in heaven has answered our prayer and this nation in response has has always been that light on a hill Reagon spoke of - thanks be to God.

Prayer Rally Raises Anew Question of the Boundaries of Rick Perrys Faith
By MANNY FERNANDEZ
Critics say that Rick Perrys Christian-themed prayer service on Saturday will be the latest instance in which the Texas governor is muddying the lines between church and state.

....there just may be a significant "personal" difference between Mrs. Palin and Mr. Perry. Having been around for over 50 years...and having lived in many parts of the world, I've noticed that there seem to be two basic kinds of Christians.
No...I don't mean the creed they follow. Heaven knows there are many many many more than two of them. No, here's what I think the difference is (at least to my eyes).
There are the "tshirt slogan" christians....and the "internalized" christians.

IMO he honestly sets out what he believes is the difference between the faith of the two possible candidates. Now none of us know what is in each of their hearts, but he puts forth a case for Perry being a "tshirt slogan" christian and Sarah as one who "wears" her Christianity on the inside, who lives by it and leads by her life including giving birth to a special needs child. He makes a convincing case, again in my opinion, for trusting her and believing what you see is what you get.
I encourage readers of this thread to read his entire post and come to your own conclusion.
“Obama is hosting a freaking âRamadan Celebrationâ and they worry about Rick Perry at a prayer rally?”
Obama Issues Statement Marking Ramadan, but Not Easter
There is a time for public prayer, and the time is now for Christians to stand in unity.
“The Raging Bull” Manny Fernandez.
correct.
Nonsense!
Palin had prayer breakfasts when she was governor of Alaska and good for her.
Just as it’s perfectly fine for Perry to have a prayer rally.
Trying to bash Perry for having a prayer rally and trying to portray Palin as superior, because she didn’t have one is ludicrous. There is NO “logic and reason” in it whatsoever.

UPDATED: Alaska Governors Prayer Breakfast
http://www.c4parchive.com/2009/03/alaska-governors-prayer-breakfast.html
The annual Alaska Governors Prayer Breakfast will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. AKST (12:30 p.m. EST, 9:30 a.m. PST). The featured speaker this year is Russell O’Quinn. Governor Palin has attended the breakfast for the last two years, and, according to C4P reader Kenton (and other sources), she’ll be there this year as well. You can watch a live webcast of the breakfast here.
As Jesus gave his Disciples different tasks:
Matthew 16:18
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
John 21:25
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
Acts 9
Saul’s Conversion..
Who are you, Lord? Saul asked.
I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, he replied. 6 Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.
I think Jesus has also given different tasks for Gov Palin and Gov Perry to do as well....
