Surviving. I got a lot accomplished this week but as always there were disappointments. I set up a jam session with a guitar player and he showed up with a 15 watt amp. “You do know I play drums?”, I axed him. I ended up with sound-off pads on Mike’s scaled down DWs (I’ve got floor toms bigger than his kick drum), lol. The novelty of jamming with brushes and splitsix wears off quickly on a 10” snare and 12” splash cymbal. Grrr

I do so LOVE Joe Sample. He was one of my jazz crushes, saw him in person, played his CD's constantly. His fingers are magic. And Randy Crawford .. a voice like buttah.
