Veterans' Organization to Governor Perry: "We need you as our Commander-in-Chief!"
PR Newswire ^ | Aug 4, 2011 | PR Newswire

Veterans for Rick Perry, a candidate committee under Federal Election Commission rules, today called upon Texas Governor Rick Perry to enter the race for President of the United States.

"As a veteran with a solid record of supporting veterans and military issues in the State of Texas, we believe Governor Perry is the best person for the job of President," said Dan Shelley, Air Force veteran and founder of Veterans for Rick Perry. "We believe Governor Perry is uniquely qualified to lead our nation through the trials that lie ahead. He has demonstrated an ability to reduce government and keep taxes low while supporting veterans' issues and creating economic and educational opportunities for veterans. Governor Perry, we need you as our Commander-in-Chief!"

Perry, a captain in the Air Force from 1972 to 1977, has a long history of supporting veterans and active-duty military members from Texas. As Governor, he has supported the "College Credit for Heroes" program, which allows universities to extend college credit for military experience, education and service; signed legislation making it easier for active-duty military personnel to vote while overseas; extended the property tax exemption for fully disabled veterans to a surviving spouse; and ensured the property tax exemption will follow disabled veterans to a new property.

I like what another Freeper said: Perry is a 10 gallon hat-wearing RINO dipped in BBW sauce, a la Bush.

All this news about Perry makes me think he is the new MSM RINO crown prince. Is he a RINO?

What I saw of him on the 700 Club last night seemed good. I don’t know about another Texan though, they haven’t worked out so well.

(ducking)

After we get our new commander in chief (a real commander), can we send the old, worn out cretin in chief to the nearest mosque?

And we all know what “They” can do with their mosques.

Perry has a record. Look at what he's done. The people, all too often, make the mistake of LISTENING to politicians, instead of examining what they have actually done. Politicians are experts at telling the people what they want to hear, saying whatever is necessary to harvest the votes.

Yes, with his support of boners debt ceiling increase, he and Perry would be rinos of a feather.

This is what Sarah Palin says about Perry, in her letter supporting Perry’s reelection as Gov of Texas. Do you think she is lying?

“While a bunch of politicians have gone to Washington, hat in hand, seeking a bailout, Governor Perry has said we should stimulate the economy with tax cuts and maintain spending discipline. Rick Perry is true to conservative principles even when others think the party needs to go a different direction. I like that about him: he doesn’t care which way the wind blows, he acts on his beliefs.

That’s why I am supporting Governor Rick Perry for re-election. He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular. He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks to his guns - and you know how I feel about guns!”

Perry was against raising the debt ceiling.

Stop spreading misinformation.

Tis difficult to swallow, this thought of yours..but all of the Southern Governors.. Clinton, Carter and Bush...when put in the scales...were found wanting. Bush helped spend us into a mess, Carter refused to defend America and Clinton was a shame to Americas moral compass.

It's not exactly the clean endorsment you might think. Ricky and Dan go way back.

The Jobs for Vets Fund and Veterans for Rick Perry were founded by lobbyist Dan Shelley, an Air Force veteran who was Perry’s legislative director.

Brieden will serve on the groups’ steering committee along with longtime Perry supporter Jay Kimbrough, who is now serving as interim chancellor of the Texas A&M University system; and Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson.

Perry and Brieden attended Texas A&M together, and Perry even gave the nomination speech for Brieden before he was elected national commander of the 2.8-million member American Legion in 2003.

Brieden and Perry have been close political allies.

Perry appeared here for a fundraiser on Brieden’s behalf last year to help Brieden’s successful bid for county judge, and Brieden served as Washington County chairman of Perry’s campaigns for agriculture commissioner in 1992, for lieutenant governor in 1998 and his 2002 and 2006 campaigns for governor.

RC2

I think Clarity may have confused you with org.whodat.

org.whodat had replied to your suggestion of a Perry / West candidacy and his comment was negative. Clarity responded and included you, but I don’t think it was for you at all.

I’m guessing either Clarity just wanted you to see that or she accidentally typed in your name for a reply with his.

NOT you, RC2. org.whodat claimed Perry supported the debt ceiling increase, and since he posted that to you, I included you in my response.

It’s org.whodat is who is spreading misinformation about Perry.

Rick Perry not boosting debt deal

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0811/60392.html

“Rick Perry, who had supported “cut, cap and balance,” is still there, according to spokesman Mark Miner, who replied when I emailed about the governor’s response to yesterday’s debt-ceiling deal, “Governor Perry supports the cut, cap and balance approach.”
