The West Texas jury deciding the fate of polygamy cult leader Warren Jeffs listened through headphones to 21 minutes of heavy breathing yesterday. Some in the room wept. Others held their hands over their mouths. The X-rated recording, a cornerstone of the states child-sex-assault case, allegedly chronicled Jeffs encounter with a 12-year-old girl, an episode that ended with the self-proclaimed prophet declaring, In Jesus Christ, amen.
The jurors heard an almost inaudible voice. Amen, echoed the child.
It got worse. According to prosecutors, Jeffs and his new celestial wife were not alone. A dozen of his most trusted men were witnesses to the sealing. It was a family affair: At least one of Jeffs other wives, his purported favorite, Naomi, was also in the room. What are you feeling? Jeffs asked the girl. And in a moment that froze everyone in the courtroom, she answered meekly, Very well, thank you.

Is she LDS? Or non religious?
Greg Abbott, the Texas AG, just said he hopes Jeffs’ followers will see him for what he is, a child molester. I guess he thinks Jeffs is the first and only mormon to do this.
Excellent - now sentence him to the remainder of his miserable life in prison, with some gang bangers and black muslims...
I would appreciate it if you would refrain from slander. Thank you.
Flora said the Utah AG is considering using FLDS as foster care.
Oh I agree 100%!
Polygamist leader convicted of child sex abuse
AP By WILL WEISSERT - Associated Press | AP 12 mins ago
SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) A Texas jury convicted polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs of child sexual assault on Thursday, in a case stemming from two young followers he took as brides in what his church calls “spiritual marriages.”
The head of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints stood stone-faced as the verdict was read. Jeffs, who acted as his own attorney, stood mostly mute for his closing argument, staring at the floor, for all but a few seconds of the half hour he was allotted.
At one point he mumbled, “I am peace,” and said no more. The only noise in the courtroom was the creaking of wooden benches brimming with spectators.

I didn’t say ANYTHING about you or to you, and the post I was replying to wasn’t posted to you, either.
She is ex-FLDS, never been LDS and is an athiest or possibly an agnostic now.
mormons refuse to see this behavior in their own history.
The women have always been seen as victims- to my way of thinking they need to target the women that allow/assist this and it may make a difference.
It is expected he will get the full 199 yrs. There are already some challenges to his leadership inside the FLDS.
I read that on here. Sent her an email asking for confirmation, haven’t heard back yet.
Sorry, I live among these stupid folks. They all do this.
They just have to pray as they are busting these poor little 12 year old girls. A godly ordinance no doubt.
And then they ask....was it good for you?
It’s sad that people from religious end up not believing in God. Or they end up angry with God. But, I can understand why, I guess.
While searching for trial news, I found some articles on the latest power struggle in the fLDS. Alas, they are aligned with RightHaven (wouldn’t “wrong-haven” make more sense?) or Gannett so I can’t post them. Interesting, to say the least. One mentions that Willy Jessup (aka Willy the Thug) has been thrown out of the fLDS? Never thought I’d see it happen.
I truly appreciate the work you’re doing. I would say “God bless you” but I can see He already has.
Living there it must be hard to keep your mouth shut.
I’m convinced this goes on in the family a lot. I’m not saying all mormons do it but I think it is condoned by the church.
When the “god” you are worshiping is as evil as the one channeled by Warren Jeffs, I can understand pulling away from religion, all religion. One day I hope she realizes who the true God actually is. I would say that she has already experienced divine intervention several times—hope she recognizes that.
Yea, send more little girls to Colorado City and Hildale for the higher up priesthood holders to get their pick of the litter. A new crop don't you know?
Prediction: A new prophet will emerge. He’ll open up the compound to all visitors. He’ll trot out women and little girls who say they’re so happy. Then after the heat dies down they’ll go right back to what they do.
This reminds me of Jim Jones. I hope it doesn’t turn out like that did.
I wish a bunch of Texas Rangers would go out there, round ‘em all up and ask “Who wants to go with us? We’re going to take all the kids to Six Flags!”
Texas had better watch Jeffs closely...I wouldn't be surprised if a "martyrdom" were managed somehow.
Or Jeffs could arrange to be "translated" bodily to Heaven...
