The day after the passage of the debt-reduction deal, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta sent a message to the Pentagon’s rank-and-file–and to Congress. Failure to enact further deficit-reduction measures, he said, might trigger “dangerous, across-the-board” cuts to defense.
The first stage of budget cuts under the “Budget Control Act of 2011” calls for $350 billion in cuts to defense spending over 10 years. But if lawmakers fail to find an additional $1.5 trillion in deficit savings, the law calls for a process called “sequestration” that would result in automatic cuts of $1.2 trillion–half of which would fall on the Pentagon budget by 2013.
...Defense budget analyst Jim McAleese said some cuts would likely be included in pending defense-spending legislation for fiscal 2012, which begins Oct. 1.
“People don’t realize how fast this is going to happen,” Mr. McAleese said.

It’s not compromise, it’s RINO concession, with now McLAme, ROmney and even the BUsh/Perries standing as traitors to those they sent overseas, not providing them for the gear, getting to a super-congress of scumbags to ensure their moneys.
They savage the Tparty with the mouth and backstab the soldiers with their left hand in a quiet flanking maneuver.
The RINOs are a shameful disgrace and Boehner needs to be piloried for that.
Did anybody else get the feeling that Panetta is just doing now what the entire Regime is going to try to accomplish before they get kicked out of DC?
Steal everything they can, then foul up everything else so bad that they can make their escape in the turmoil.

Leon knows he works for a new world order stooge, he’s just stating the obvious for cya.
Unfortunately, defense cuts will come, it’s gonna be like Carter. Wait until next year when the $2T credit limit increase for Congress is drying up.
Our military will get the job done either way, it’s a sin, though.
It will have to be rebuilt on the next President’s watch.
Things are going to get really hairy in the next two years, so - I have not a clue how it all shakes out.
Every country is in serious economic trouble, we have a usurper in the WH, whew.
Just gotta hang in there until 2013 and keep working on getting new congresscritters and wh.
Reminds me what a boss once said when a meeting ended that nobody liked the results of: Well, everybody deal.
