Recession: A day after purchasing managers reported an "unexpected" slump in manufacturing, another surprise report shows consumer spending falling for the first time in nearly two years. Double dip, anyone? Despite of the largest Keynesian spending splurge in the history of the planet, the economy continues to founder. The last two years' "stimulus" meant to get consumers and businesses humming again was in excess of 10% of GDP, an unheard of economic intervention, exceeding even FDR's during the Depression.

What double dip! We never got out of the first dip.
Oh I forgetted. The summer of recovery.
But hey. We won. I’m going back to the shire.
When did we recover from the first recession? What did I miss?
“Despite of the largest Keynesian spending splurge in the history of the planet, the economy continues to founder.”
As Gomer Pyle said “Surprise surprise suprise!” Keynesian economics has failed every time that it has been tried. But what do I know? I did not go to an Ivy League school.
When unemployment went below 9% for a couple of months, THAT was the recovery.
Now that the Debt Deal Shell Game passed, our Dear Leader can celebrate his 50th birthday just like Der Führer; and his racist man-wife can go on another expensive "vacation."
I don’t care what the fancy pants e-con-o-mists say. The first recession never ended. We’re right in the midst of it. Every thing nobama has tried has turned to sh1t. Every brilliant idea he has had just adds to the misery.
nobama, you’re a royal screwup.
That's the first place they will go for revenue to confiscate.
Go Galt, it pays better....
.
When did that happen? I could be wrong but I don’t think it did. It went to 10% then came back down.
But I’m just a poor Hobbitt I am. Oh yeah, and hezbollah too. Just call me Bilbo ibn Frodo.

I have a friend who owns a Chevy dealership in Tucon....as of the 18th of July, he has sold only 14 cars.
No wonder, nobody ever heard of it. ;-)

Spot on upchuck!
BOHIC-A!
One more victory like the debt deal and the U.S. could be ruined.
As it was intended to!
Really tired of all editorials and articles stating the obvious...double-dip horse ka ka...single depression, yes.
Any boost or recovery was a facade due to governmental prop ups.
We are heading for the inevitable acknowledgment that we have been in a double dip recession for several months now, and if the economy gets much worse we will be well on our way to Depression before anyone admits that...
Uh Tucson?......I tried to fix it...too late : )
Yes it happens all the the time to me too.
FR should have a double spell check after
we try to post...
Oy vey.
