Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Monday’s House vote to lift the debt ceiling was a victory for the tea party, proving that conservative activists had shifted the conversation in Washington.
“We shall take this victory and make sure our politicians in office today are learning from this victory,” Ms. Palin said Monday night on Fox News, where she is a paid contributor. “It’s not a 100% pure genuine victory. We just handed the most liberal president, I believe, in U.S. history a $2.4 billion debt increase.”

Thanks for pointing out this thread, but you know what? What I see here are many of the same people who were soundly refuted on the thread last night, right here repeating the same propaganda knowing full well they are lying through their teeth.
So here is an article that repeats exactly what we proved was wrong because that seems to be the ONLY thing that anyone either thinks they heard, or deliberately skewed to fit the anti-Palin establishment agenda.
The nimtods on this thread who know better are simply seriously dishonest, and those who did not see last night’s thread but attack Sarah Palin anyway as venomously as they do, are not worth the time or the effort to argue with. That’s the fact of it. It will not change, and frankly, they are so radical in their hatred of all things Sarah that I need to wash my eyes out several times just to wade through it.
Leave them to their hatefest. There is no sense in trying to treat rocks as if they have brains. Won’t work.

Yes, I’ve noted Sarah’s tendency to be cryptic. It is not a deal-breaker for me, but I certainly don’t list it on the Advantages side of her balance.
For example, her mysterious remarks about contested primaries. For all I know she could have been talking about Obama. Most reports say she was referring to TEA Party freshmen who were going soft on earlier debt talks/votes. If that is the case, then it appears most of the TEA folk, including herself, did not put much stock in her threat.
Or... perhaps this is just a political maneuver to make it look like the TEA folk voted as she wanted.
Does she have sway and these guys voted for a bill she would sign? Or was she swayed by ambition to feign tacit support for the position a majority of her threatened minions eventually took?
Neither option would be good.
Of course, I understand her qualifications of the ‘victory’ statement and her supporters analysis of that which says she does not like the bill but still considers the TEA influence as some sort of moral victory. But Rush is Right, as usual, there is no such thing as moral victory in politics.
At the VERY best, today’s law is an IMMORAL victory for those who claim it anything other than a disastrous defeat.
Victory in that it might save some seats or reputations or tee times. Immoral in that we just gave the most irresponsible spender in US history the largest credit card balance bump ever recorded. And all I got was this lousy “I survived ‘Victory’” T-shirt.
Perhaps this is an example of Palin either swaying or approving the majority of the TEA caucus and their votes. And perhaps it will be hailed another Bachmann legislative failure because she and a third of the TEA people chose higher and righter ground to make a stand.
If so, I am DEFINITELY voting for legislative failure over executive experience in 2012.

Personnally, I knew they wouldn’t get much either, but was surprised how little they did get after all the noise and votes. I’m not a Tea Party member, I lean their direction though, so I didn’t really have a horse in this. However, no sensible, no insult intended, can see this as a “win” for the Tea Party or for conservatism. Obama was the winner here.

Quoting Greta’s assignment of “victory” to TEA for changing the nature of the debate, Palin reiterated “this victory” strictly in context of TEA’s influence on the process. Palin did not offer any other significant notion of “victory” concerning this bastard of a bill.

No. When Perry is questioned (on every Perry thread) there is argument, back and forth, and the Perry opponents usually outnumber the Perry supporters.
For many months, since the topic of a potential Sarah Palin Presidential run has existed, any questioning of Sarah Palin's desirability as the GOP candidate is always met with a chorus of:
"PDS! PDS! PDS! PDS! PDS!"
Let me tell you something my friend. Everybody got something, and everybody wanted more, but we control the debate right now. Notice how Sarah has become very visible and very vocal these last few days. That's not an accident.

I read some of, but I don't have time tonight to read all of it. I will say this though. I doubt very much that Rush believes we were't going to get out of this without rasing the debt ceiling. He's too smart for that, and you're too naive to understand it.
