Wow.

State pre-emption laws can be a good thing, so long as the good guys have power at the state level.

Yet another
common sense gun law for the Sunshine State.
Gotta love it.

The US Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land, the Laws of any State notwithstanding (Article 6, paragraph 2). Therefore the Right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed (Amendment 2). Not even by home rule cities and HOA's, and with no qualifiers for licensing or mode of carry.
Period. Full stop. End of story.
Anyone telling you otherwise is an active danger to your Rights and Freedoms and should be treated as a Felon in violation of USC Title 18 Sections 241 and 242.

IIRC, Florida has had statewide pre-emption laws for a while, but had some rather large loopholes. This new legislation closes some of those loopholes.
This is a good thing, although, as expected, this "news article" is overly tinged by the typical whining of the brainwashed sheep who grace themselves with the title of "journalist".
They weep, and it is a good thing to hear.

beyond guns this is a big problem in local laws.
cities pass laws they KNOW they can never enforce as a means of bandaid control. Let the judge sort them out they say.
City attornys are often incompetent, crony appointees, or both. They will pass road laws, gun laws, emmission laws, etc. with the anticipation that Mr. and Mrs. America does not have the money to hire a lawyer to fight city or county hall. (never mind that there are over EIGHT starving law schools in FL)

I love it. Liberal knickers in knots over law-abiding citizens carrying guns for protection.

Sweet! Colorado has had their similar law for a number of years now and the world hasn’t cracked in half.

The title says:
New Florida law forces cities, counties to repeal local gun laws But the article says: Although the state has claimed sole right to regulate firearms since 1987, this year's new law adds fines for local officials who fail to comply, and gives gun owners a right to sue for damages if they believe their rights have been violated. So I guess the actual law is of no importance to them till it comes with penalties, then? Welllll....OK, Nancy! Guess it's time to start building in civil and criminal penalties for politicians in bills when they DARE violate people's rights. They said by their actions that that's what they want, so....
